Can someone explain to me why the Keith Bluemel and Jess G. Pouret book about the 250 GTO is so expensive? What is there in that book that makes it so desirable. On ebay it goes for $200, and in general it is more often $500 to $800.

Just wondering since I have been casually interested in purchasing the book, and I certainly want to know what is inside before I drop that load of cash on a book.

    Hi anonymous,

I have this book in my collection, but I didn´t know its value had increased that much in the meantime. I guess it´s - like usual - mostly a case of supply & demand that´s pushing the price that high.

But it´s also a very, very nice book indeed, with race & ownership histories listed on all of the individual cars, including lots and lots of pictures, many of which in colour (also many of the period race photos). 192 pages in total and written by two very knowledgable Ferrari historians - so quality guaranteed!

Definitely a very nice & interesting book, probably worth the $200 Ebay price, depending of course on your budget.

    Hope this helps a bit.

    Ciao,

    Lars T.

I have this book in english, and its one of my favorite books. His description of taking his GTO out for a run is pure Car sex!

I did not know they were that expensive. hate to tell you but I bought mine at Borders about 10 years ago, just saw it and bought it, think it was $30? but is a great book.

I just found out about this thread. I am overjoyed to see this book worth so much! It seems to be the Ferrari GTO of Ferrari books. I had two and gave one to a friend...is he overjoyed!
    Besides, it's a fantastic book.

I was glad to see that I have this book also. My question is, if the book is so rare, why don't the publishers do a second printing?

because it's not interesting to own or hunt something that's NOT 'ultra-rare' :)
I have the book too, paid around $ 35,-- a few years ago.

    Best Regards from Germany
