Incredible chronological documentation of a great job and a great car!

Just curious, why wasn't the interior matt black applied before the exterior paint coats?

Hi Len, please be advised that every part of the bodywork and chassis was individually painted prior to assembly, we then freshened up the Matt black as no matter how good the masking is there will allways be some leakage / overspray ( remember we are applying Epoxy primer, Polyester high build primer, high build primer surfacer, wet on wet sealer primer, base coat colour and 2 pack lacquer over a period of 8 weeks) the constant baking between coats at 90 degrees centigrade loosens the masking tape, also there will be areas of minor damage caused by the refitting of the bodywork / welding etc.. Our aim is to achieve the highest level of protecton and we have achieved this by isolating the Alloy bodywork from the Steel superstructurel in order to avoid electrolisys, cheers Kev. Ps, if the Matt black leaks onto the outer paint finish it can be easily dealt with whereas the Matt black can not be touched once applied as it will go gloss.
