    Does Discovery HD play different shows from the normal Discovery channel? Because I don't have the HD channels. I looked at the TV guide for Friday at 2pm on the Discovery channel, and I didn't see the GTO special.

    Yes, Discovery HD and HD Theater, both Discovery networks, feature different programming.

    To my knowledge, HD Theater is the only HD only channel that does not have a standard def. counterpart.

    They actually have some decent car related shows but are starved for content in the sense that everything is aired literally dozens of times.
