Did anyone catch "Open House NY" this am on wnbc-tv? They featured the infamous ferris bueller garage scene home, which has been on the market for a while, but they had a 250gto in it for the piece. Looked a little too cherry to be real. Anyone know?

I missed it but always tape it. I saw the movie house in IL about 6 months ago on an out of NY segment. I'll have to check it out. I heard the Ferrari that went out the window of Cameron Frye's father's garage in the Ferris Bueller was a kit car. I have seen a car like the one form the movie at L'Escale in Greenwich. I have a picture, if I can find it I'll post it.

Yeah the 250 California GT Spider was a fake in the movie (thank god!)

From what I remember they used the fake for the action/distance scenes, and a real one for the close-ups.

When I was at L'Escale last (during the weekend of the Greenwich concours) there was a genuine red California Spyder (a LWB) sitting right outside of L'Escale. My understanding is that this car is driven quite frequently.

    This according to IMDB:

Cameron's father's Ferrari wasn't a real Ferrari. Because it was too expensive to rent one, they made three fake ones with a fiberglass body

Yes, Ashman, that is the one that I was referring to. Lovely patina on that one. Thank you.

Yes I saw it at the Stamford show. I also saw it at L'Escale a few years back during the Greenwich show. Very cool car.

A couple of years back there was a 250 GTO at the Stamford show and it looked as if it was driven often. Pretty sure it was real.
