250 GTO Replica?

    Following the creation of the P4/5 on a modern chassis I started imagining a modern 250 GTO. Unfortunately Ferrari doesn't have a 2400 lb RWD chassis in the line up, nor a 3.0L V12. So after looking at this list of top sports cars

    I see that the 250 GTO is the all time best and Miata is the best of the 90s. Considering the Miata is at 2200 lbs. and the Ford 5.0L Monster Miatas have been so successful I'm now thinking that the drivetrain in my Maserati Spyder with F430 mufflers just might work with a 250 GTO replica body.

    Any precedents on this?
