Hi JLF. Thanks for following my progress. That is a Factory Ferrari part, came off of this car 15 years ago. I then polished it with some 1500 grit 3M pad. Located some #10 Stainless Steel screws from local hardware store. ( all done)
Ok you Ferrari Wrench Nuts. my 14mm Ferrari Combo Wrench is in FerrariAds. ( get it or,,?) $1000.00 Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm reading that Centari is NLA for maybe 10 years now. But I don't believe everything I read (unless Edwardo writes it). Is this true? Also, what was your last grit for scuffing base paint before respraying?
hi blown fuse,, you are right, sorry, I accidentally said “ Centari.” I meant to type PPG “ Concept.” ( a much better quality paint.) and, with the New Compliant Paint Reducers, you only need to sand down to 330 grit. Smile, Eduardo Image Unavailable, Please Login
hey JLF,, Thanks fir following my progress,, No, this is a,, PPG Single Stage. The “matte” finish your mentioning is for the 2 stage paints, to facilitate the additional top, clear coat. (smile) Eduardo
Hey JLF i just use Turtle Wax. On the bottom of the SS sill, on the Car Frame and then ,, I add three 3M sticky’s under the sill then screw it to the car frame. Then, I installed it. any urethane’s on Stainless Steel tends to chip and yellow with time.
hey Guido,, happy almost April. ( it’s not the first though.) Hope your Ferrari projects are fruitful. I have a 1981 308 ,, the head bots are not hidden like on the qv. (whew) Thanks for the wrench offer, that would be nice for a qv in my future. ( smile) btw, with 3 hours on these new head gaskets.,,,?? Hey John, I hope your projects are going as planned. This one is quite bumpy, but now better. ( whew) Ha ha See RF side light installed. Should I go with the “Euro,” style instead. ? Plz. vote. ☺️ View attachment 2465693
Image Unavailable, Please Login Pulling fwd distributor cap. I have a , “ click, click, click,” every revolution. Possible sources. 1) distributor rotor? 2) new flywheel 5-8 TDC sensor, a little too long? 3) valve lash disc?. ( I know I’m within 4 thousands , loose on exh. valve 7) please chime in ,,
Image Unavailable, Please Login So I got the, right hand side light installed. I had to decide between the USA or the European side lights. but, I went with USA model side lights. This car originally came with the European Side Lights, but I felt like I had to go with the DOT, ,?because this “euro car,” has California ARB and DOT paperwork. ( smile) And, I don’t want my paperwork to get revoked by the leftest loons in charge of the California Dept. of Motor vehicles. Oh followers , btw, the clicking in the foreword bank was a New Distributor Rotor combined with an OEM Distributor Cap. ( hummm, why did I get an interference,,? ) I didn’t add the cork gasket under the distributor cap. ( wee will see. )
Won't that throw off the torque reading, being angular to the straight axis and extending beyond the torque wrench's calibration? Am ignernt and wanna know for science.
