How common are 1/25 scale models of the 250LM? I have one somewhere in a box in storage. I think it was a Japanese model. Found it at a hobby shop where the owner had a lot of older stuff. Is a 250LM model currently in production? And when I say MODEL, I mean the kind of plastic model that you assemble yourself; not some "Made in China" toy.

They were made die cast by a couple of companies........I have the NART version and a red one at 1/24....metal.

Then at 1:18 I have a red, a yellow, and the special Mecom blue version...Lemans ('66??)

Then of course Tony George has that full scale one in the indy museum........HTH.

I have one that I built some years ago. It was from an off-brand Japanese made kit (Academy?). It captured the shape of the car pretty well and the interior is good but there was no detail in the engine comparment.

I ended up sawing the engine cover off and placing an aftermarket 3-liter V12 that I bought in the back abd mounting it to a transaxcle from another car.
I added gas tanks, scratchbuilt frame members and other details to get a reasonable representation of the beautiful 250LM. Aftermarket decals were used to create the markings of the 1965 LeMans winning car co-driven by
Jochen Rindt and Masten Gregory, the last Ferrari to win at LeMans.

The result was far from perfect but I'm proud of the extra effort I put in to replicate that historic car.
