I´m looking for the race, driver and result of the 250LM on the picture! Additional pics would be great! (Copyright unknown) Image Unavailable, Please Login
Also the top pic has a scoop behind drivers window and the second pic is missing that but has 2 on the bonnet, and why different numbers?
I think the difference are two month: 1. Test version of 5843 during the Le Mans testing days 18-19 April 1964 2. Race version of 5843 during the Le Mans race at 20-21 June 1964 Best regards Burkhard
The picture of 6119 in the wet, was more than likely during Philip Dowell's ownership in the UK The car has the UK registration number that was on it when I bought it. Don Nelson
The photo in question was taken at Castle Combe circuit here in the UK and is my copyright, it is indeed Philip Dowell.
Here the Links and a picture to my previous thread: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=89883&highlight=4453&page=84 http://www.racingsportscars.com/type/archive/Ferrari/250%20LM.html Perhaps these informations are wrong? Aardy, which sources do you have, that´s 250LM-5841 at the Le Mans test days in April 1964? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Another reason I need to learn Italian. I followed the video link to youtube and found several others they have posted.
Look the slot before the rear wheel at right of the car : - large with no rebord on the number 19 and like 5841 had always have (still on the car today). - thin with rebord on the number 23 s/n like 5843. And when the number 19 came to Le Mans trials, it had a rear hood like 5149, then tested with the other rear hood shown on the pictures of this thread. As the second car built, I would say it would be logical that it was 5841 and not 5843 which had the same hood than 5149...
Interesting to see it was on (road legal) Avon CR6ZZ tyres. Does anyone have a lap time comparison between these and the (also road legal) Michelin TB15's compared to Dunlop Racing tyres? I mean on any car not just 250LM.
Would think on a normal size type track. slicks 4 seconds in front of TBs and the TBS 2 seconds in front of Avon.
Would you mind posting them? Here's one (forgot where I found it) {maybe here in this post}... love to see some photos with the body completely removed. Image Unavailable, Please Login
