OUCH, that pretty hash don't you think. I also have a 250gt that is in original condition and not all that pretty. I like to think of it as an unmolested, complete, original down to the tool kit and owners manual, with all service records from 1962 to present, nice driver, with a patina that only 46 years of use can give a car. I can tell you one thing for sure. The car you posted about still has the passenger head rest. That would make it pretty original in my book, and certainly not a parts car.
It is a REALLY good thread here, and i would like to contribute a little... for sure the Historians know more about this light yellow 250 Coupe ! i pictured the car at the official dealer Garage Foitek in Urdorf,Switzerland, at the end of 2004. regards ivo Image Unavailable, Please Login
I do feel a little bit remorseful in posting those opinions about his car as the owner really is a nice guy that I've known for a long time and wouldn't want to hurt his feelings. Its his car and he can do or not do anything he wants to the car. You can have a "drive it into the ground" attitude with something like a 1965 VW Microbus that can develop a funky patina of rust and oxidized paint. But from a PF Coupe enthusiast's point of view, I hate to see such a significant or important car look so...so used up. There's patina from growing old gracefully in a garage. This car, last time I saw it, looked like it was real lucky to see a carport, much less a garage. But hey, its his business. I don't know anything about your hash. KevFla
Nice car and long gone....anyone familiar with #1151?? Black/Red..Having a PPI done on it next week....thanks in advance..
It certainly seems that there is enough interest in these cars to warrant having an online register of them and their current owners. Anybody interested in pursuing it? Ed
I think it is very interesting. It really would be interesting to find out how many of these cars still remain.
...echo John's comments. Lovely colour....and comes with passengers side headrest. That's maybe 4 cars I have seen now with that original feature remaining intact. Darren.
Darren Jaffrey has made a start on an online PF Coupe registry with assistance from John Vardanian and others. I'm sure when he is ready to start gathering information on the cars he will be looking for help and information from as many people and sources as possible.
didn't comedian Bill Cosby own or used to own a 250 PF? (i was surprised and a little annoyed to find out the 250 PF wasn't included in this months Forza Magazine in their top 10 Ferrari designs)
My files show an estimate as follows: CARS KNOWN TO HAVE SURVIVED WITH ORIGINAL BODY: 129 LOST FOREVER (SINCE NEW): 128 LOST TRACE IN LATER LIFE: 36 CONFIRMED REBODIES: 24 ENGINE ONLY (=PROBABLY SCRAPPED): 18 PROJECT CARS (UNLIKELY TO BE RESTORED): 10 SCRAPPED: 8 TOTAL: 353 See <http://koti.welho.com/kpietil4/250gtpf.htm> for a list of total production. This may develop into a register as soon as I have decided how to proceed. Best wishes, Kare
well, the 'panel' included the likes of Leonardo Fioravanti, Tom Tjaarda and Chuck Jordan. but I agree, those lists aren't worth it to get worked up about.
I have seen many pictures of this car when I enquired about it in mid 2005. If I could work out how to resize pcitures on my Mac I would upload them.... When I was looking it was located in Tokyo and had apparently been there for some time. Can't comment on condition as I have not seen it first hand but in the photos it had (painted) red drum brakes which were a bit mickey mouse. The interior had been nicely re-upholstered but I think they have used GTE seats and not PF seats. PF seat are squared off by the transmission tunnel. 1151's are not and were just like my GTE seats. I think as always with PF's the number 1 question to answer is do you want inside plug/drum or outside/disk. Lots of good reasosn to go with either configuration but I personally wanted outside/disk so passed. Would be interested in your feedback. If you PM me I will send the 50 or so large digital images I have. Good luck. Darren.

Kare, Pimples... you made me laugh out loud. I didn't see the list, but I'll bet there was a GTO in the mix, right? john
Can you confirm? Isn't this the body that used to be on 0716TR? What chassis was it installed on at the time? Where did it come from, who crashed it, where and when? Best wishes, Kare
Darren, Do you want me to resize and post the pictures of 1151 for you? Just let me know and I'll give it a shot. Regards, Art S.
