Saw this one last Saturday in the small town where I live and where you hardly see any Ferrari. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
In the Prunet book, there is a 250 PF Coupe with covered headlights--and a sunroof. Supposedly this was for the 1958 Turin Salon. Does anyone have the S/N of this car--or any info on this car?? Thanks, Ken Goldman
1017 GT was new to RIV S.p.A. in Torino, one of the companies of Gianni Agnelli. This car later burnt out at Garage Zuliani's in France. Engine wasn't in the car at the time, later went into a TDF in California. Marcel Massini
Having bought a new Ferrari in 1980 (308 GT4), there was literally no info available. It is truly INCREDIBLE what is out there today as to info, history, etc. Thanks to all !! Ken Goldman
Thanks for these interesting info about the fate of the #1017GT. Do you know if the engine was sold in California by the owner of the burnt car or by the garage's insurance?
1637 GT. Original exterior color: Grigio Platinato MM 16656. Original interior color: Vinyl and leather Blu VM 3087. Marcel Massini
Apparently there is a series 2 car coming up for sale in a week - 1989GT: https://www.classicdriver.com/de/car/ferrari/250-gt/1960/335779 Looks more than decent...
Here's a challenge for you guys. These pictures were taken in Ipanema Beach, in Rio de Janeiro, sometime probably in the early 60's. The pictures were sent to me by a former owner of the car who had it only for a few months, maybe even less, and who knows nothing of serial numbers and stuff like that. I'd love to know if anyone out there knows what car this is (S/N), whether it was originally sent to Brazil, and also where it is today, with some modern pics if possible. I get a kick out of seeing it by the beach in Rio when things were a lot different down there... I think it was still our country's capital.... Here is another picture and a correction - these photos were probably taken around 1967, and not in the early 60's. The car was located in São Paulo in the early 60's, but was sold to an owner in Rio by 1967. The interior is black, according to a source that saw the car back in the day. Absolutely outstanding! ... I believe even to recognize the spot much changed today ... Thank you for sharing!
More pics. These are being sent to me by the young man (now not so young) who is in some of the pictures. He told me the story: the pics were taken in may 1967. He owned the red 1927 Chevrolet. At the time the owner of the PF was a businessman (possibly car dealer) from São Paulo who offered to buy the young guy's Chevrolet, or trade it + enough money to buy a new VW, for the Ferrari. The kid didn't have enough money to do the trade, so he was "financed" by his grandma. When his father found out a few weeks later he took the kid (and the Ferrari) back to the hotel where the businessman was staying at and kindly asked that he return the check for the extra money. The guy was nice enough about it and still bought the chevrolet.... Lucky kid owned a Ferrari for a few weeks... Apparently it was sold on to a European gentleman, but I couldn't discern from the story I was told whether this gentelman lived here, or in Europe. Did the prices come back to reality? It is 11 yrs now. I think this car has even more scope of higher prices in time. How many series 2 are left do we think? It is truly a beautiful and classy car to look at, also remembering that its got the glorious Colombo V12 and all hand built under the watchful eyes of Enzo Ferrari ( to boost his racing budgets, Scaglietti, and Battista Pininfarina
Hello to all. I am new to this site. I came here to learn some things about the 250 gt coupe Pininfarina. I might be buying one soon and I wish to know , apart all there is on google , what one should know and do prior to buying one. I see that the venerable Mr. Marcel Massini is also an honorary member of this site. I have tried to obtain contact details of Mr. Massini but I was not furtunate in finding this as yet. I appreciate all the help I can get , thank you
What's the typical steering ratio on the pf coupe? I have seen 1:20 but also one 1:17. Why would they have changed? What would the norm be?
I was just told as suspected they were 1:20. However, I have seen one build sheet on a comp engine one showing 1:17 Does anyone know if any other originally comp engined PF's and/or any with the quicker 1:17 ratios?
It seems the PF community isn't as active as before Were there any PF Coupe's that were used in competition? Obviously it would be the berlinettas normally, but wasn't there a comp Lusso?
