On a lazy afternoon I decided to clean up the farina emblems on my 250. When I looked close , I was moved by the detail that was used 60 years ago. The paisley encasement would probably be overlooked by 99/100 people .. under flash , the detail is clear .. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

I once saw a television show on automotive restoration. The narrator continually emphasized “preservation” and not new replacement parts. I’m onboard

Darren, Thank you for the link to the Ferrari Pf Coupe article. I especially enjoyed the period factory photo of the interior of what would be a typical inside-side plug Coupe. Great detailed view and reference. Note confirmation that the forward part of the gearbox tunnel is carpeted, not leather (this forward tunnel section would later be finished in leather for the outside-plug cars). Note also the pleats of the center part of the seats: the seams and pleats are relatively flat, not puffed up. Many efforts today to restore the seats miss the nuance of this original seat detail. Correctly, the bolsters are full, you sit into the seat, but the pleats are sewn relatively flat, if you study an original seat. The radio blank-off-plate has the winged chrome badge with the plain shield – Pininfarina used the very same blank-off-plate and winged badge for the Lancia Aurelia. Enlarging the photo, you can see that the carpet heel pads are ribbed too. Screenshot here.

Have to say that to me it is so much more elegant in Grigio.....and that is one gorgeous interior.

    Colours really do make cars.

Quick Registry update whilst I'm here.

149 (+/-) cars one could consider "matching numbers" and 130 totally unaccounted for. I wonder where they are ?

Looks a little rounder in places than my 0963GT S1.

Agree; the tail is too high and the front fenders in profile have too much curve.

Do you have a link to the video? I just wasted a bunch of time watching Guerlain commercials in hope of seeing the car!

I will say that the idea of Angelina Jolie owning a 250GT of any sort raised my impression of her significantly...

EDIT: Christie's says that it is being sold by Jolie. Wouldn't they know?
