Anyone have any pics of the undercarriage of a 250 SWB?

I was at a car show where they had a 250 GTE up on a lift and I was admiring the design and the looks of the components. It was a work of art. I was also impressed to see a belly pan similar to what modern cars use today. What was the purpose back then for a belly pan? Today its for reducing drag and increasing top speed.
The undercarriage of these old cars are beautiful!

    Thanks

    Frank,

The Bugatti type 35 had an underbody pan for aerodynamics— in the 1920s.
