Hey Guys, My wife gave me the best birthday present ever! (no, not a new F-car!) This past weekend we drove to Houston to take part in my gift. It was the "Drive Your Dream" 2500HP driving event. A company in Dallas puts these tours on in several major citys in Texas. There are 5 cars, all with 500hp or more, and a driving tour of some deserted, rural, very curvy roads north of Houston. The tour guide (driving a MB), allows you to "open up" the cars several times (I hit way over triple digits several times in each car). It was a blast and I still have not been able to scrape the grin off my face! You drive each car for about an hour (as least in my case as my wife did not drive), then switch to the car behind you. Here's what I drove in order: 1) Bentley GT Convertible - Auto 2) Corvette Z06 - 6 speed 3) BWM M6 Convertible - Auto 4) Lambo Gallardo Spyder - F1 5) Ferrari F430 - F1 The F-Car was obviously the best of the bunch, but the Lambo Spyder all wheel drive V10 was a close second! Happy Belated!! Sounds like it was a blast. I have hoped to do one of these for a long time but always worried that I would pay a lot of money for seat time in fast cars and then be denied the privelage of actually driving them. Sounds like this was not the case for you. I'll have to save up...
Thanks for the belated birthday greeting! No, the driving time was great! We had to follow each other and couldn't pass, but when the tour guide would find a clear, deserted section of road, he would gun it. We would wait for him to get a 1/8 mile or so in front and then one by one explode the power of these machines! Some of these road were filled with "S" curves for miles. With no traffic in sight, I once went through a series of esses in the Lambo hitting 130 between the turns! Here are some additional pics from the 2500 HP tour. Thanks to Wetpet above for letting me know there is another company out there offering a similar 5 Car high speed tour. This one is in Florida, and also offers tours in many other states and cities.
