250GT Lusso S/N: 4577 Information

Do not have any current notes, but it was offered to me for sale as well as possible trade by an owner or broker from New York in early 1997. The asking price back then was $179,000 and it was described as matching numbers on a full restoration. It had been repainted to red during restoration and while new the interior remained in the original color of black. I believe I may have met with the owner at Lime Rock that Fall but do not recall any other details.

It was also offered for sale by a guy on Long Island in January 2002 as "Impeccable, needs nothing" with 48,750 miles and an asking price of $165,000.

Then in February, 2008 by The Stable in Gladstone, NJ with 49,823 miles for asking price of $695,000.

 

This car was offered to me by a Paris based broker a couple of months ago. Vastly overpriceced IMO.

"250 GT Lusso:Rosso Corsa:Black 15/5/2004/:for sale via Bonhams Auction (Monaco 15 May 2004):Borrani wire wheels. Only three owners to date. Originally delivered to North America in March 1963. it was acquired by the current German owner 11 years ago. It received a comprehensive rebuild of its engine. gearbox. brakes. ignition and electrical system by Modena Motorsport in Germany in 1997-98 and has a new stainless steel exhaust system"

 

This car seems to have traveled a lot in the past 7 years! Did it sell at Monaco in 2004?
