I don't know how to post an image so to see my portrait of a 250GTO engine you go to VeloceToday.com
where they have posted my drawing of a 250GTO engine based on an engine I photographed last August
during the final stop on the tour preceding Pebble Beach concours. I am not sure
which of the GTOs it was, the '63 series I models or one of the '64 Series 2 cars. I also looked at that model engine (for $125) and thathas twodistributors so I don't know why the second one wasn't visible in my picture. I welcome further little insights about the 250GTO engine when I redo the lettering, for instance, what was the capacity of the dry sump reservoir? Was it a double row roller chain? What was the torque peak of the engine, at what rpm? Was the engine design lifted direct from the short wheelbase competitzione 250GT or improved in cam timing, valve size, etc.? I believe Bizzarrini engineered that car too.
I will do other engines too, if I can find good ref. on a P3/4 engine next.
