£250k for a Shamal?

Apparently an immaculate time-warp example, only 7k miles, and no doubt there are plenty of super-rich car nuts in Dubai who want to drive something that nobody else has...... but at this price? - AED 999,999 - that's equivalent to £250,000 !?

I think the description in the ad is an automated one, generated by which boxes he ticked when filling in the form to place the ad. The part where he writes his own description seems to be this bit:
"I sell this Maserati Shamal, produced only 369 copies from 1989 to 1995. I'm interested in exchange with the cars: Porsche Cayenne turbo, Ferrari California or Bantley GTS or Apartment in Dubai"

Maybe he's the first owner and has never seen another Shamal in Dubai, so he believes someone will pay this price for ultimate exclusivity, in a culture where big private collections of supercars are common and individuality and one-upmanship means a lot more than money. Who knows, maybe he's had offers over the years from envious people with bottomless pockets.

Or as you say, he could just be a scammer.
