Well you don't see these every day. A 25th Anniversary Countach with 6,000 miles from new. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
But I was lucky enough to see one myself, on Sunday. It was on display at the Ferrari and Friends Concorso in CT. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I am pretty sure that is Vinny's shop - Auto Elite. The gorgeous red Countach that Mark posted pics of belongs to a very good friend of mine. That Countach is hands down the cleanest one I have ever seen. I know it took him a few years of looking to finally find the right one but it was worth the wait. I have been looking for one now for about 7 months and I have to tell u that the choices are slim. I think the odometer reads 6000 which on that tach is KM, so it doesn't even have 3800 miles on it. He had terrific things to say about Auto Elite in Tenafly. My 430 just had a major done but after speaking to Antonio I would not hesitate to bring my car to Vinny. We have been ribbing him about starting a thread on the car. He is great people and I wish him the best.
That is a beautiful example, however to me the Countach just really got out of hand in the end; it looks like a kit car. Sad for a car which was just so far ahead of it's time in "74 when I saw one in the NY International auto show, at the old NY Coliseum.
There's on local in my area, less than 2k on it. A real "old school" muscle car guy owns it, brings it to all the shows and cruise ins. He's usually got the only foreign car there...
Joe Sackey started a thread about the Annivesario Countach(89-90) in the Lamborghini Chat section. It's actually a great and informative read. He is a very intelligent exotic car dealer who primarily sells super cars(F40, Enzo, Miura). He believes the Anniversary Edition is a great investment and the best Countach ever made. I agree with him. The Anniversary Countach has exploded in price just over the last two years. Now that it's coming up on it's own 25th anniversary and featured in the movie, "The Wolf of Wall Street" it has made the task of finding one and purchasing it extremely difficult. I missed this Countach by 1 day.
That is vinny's shop- Auto Elite- he is great!! Always some interesting stuff in there- last time I was there there was an old Lancia- the first v6 w/independent suspension or something like that, the time before a Lusso and 550 barchetta...all sorts of very rare things mixed in with things like 308s, a random alfa and other interesting Italian machinery. I never liked the later countaches as much as the earlier ones- the most interesting to me are the earliest narrow body cars (which have really exploded in price), followed by the cleaner non-winged wide body. Kirk (who co-started our C&C meets) has my favorite following the narrow body cars- he has a late 80s in beautiful blue with no wing car, and with downdraft carbs (was a Canadian car)- the best combination I've ever seen in person (since I've never seen a narrow body one in person). He also had a couple of 25th ann. cars over the years...
At the Greenwich concours I have seen a couple early 400s show up (saw a red one and blue one). They are fantastic looking. The funny part is how small the original rubber was on these cars; probably the equivalent of a 205 width.
Yes thats Vincenzo shop in tenafly nj called auto elite its where my cars go .. in fact i have a dino flare/chair there now nice hardware in there these days
phil the other car is a car that was raced by fangio i know the owner and always forget the name its was made by fiat branch called strguinelli?? something like that but it is a car actually driven by Fangio !!
I love the rear wing on this Countach. I also think the red/tan is the best color combo and the Anniversary, the best Countach variant ever produced. It's becoming increasingly harder to find one since so many have left the states to go overseas. The prices have nearly doubled in the last year alone. It's really been insane but it's the law of supply and demand.
By chance I was there today picking up my car when the Countach was picked up, sounding and looking perfect. Lucky owner! Image Unavailable, Please Login
