275 GTB # 10559 Is going to the Ferrari Nationals this November 2021 to Sebring Florida

This 275 GTB/4 has an intriguing story behind her, It has been disassembled and sitting in a garage for the past 45+ years waiting patiently for the chance to see daylight again. With the new owner preparing for a full nut, bolt and paint restoration, we thought we would show her off in its current state with a lot of originality showing off for all you die hard Ferrari Fans!!!! to see, Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

    10559 is nice.
But it is not in the original color.
    Born Argento Metallizzato 106-E-1.
It has been in NV, NC, IN, TX, prior to 1986.

Yes! It is originally silver, which one can see through out as they sprayed over the original paint quickly., if this is a major issue, Perhaps I could just leave it at home & save myself a lot of trouble

Marcel do you own or drive a Ferrari? I have since I was seventeen, living in France in the later seventies and have continued throughout my life working on them & enjoying them...It is very depressing to read statements on a daily basis thAT PEOPLE SHOULD GO TO JAIL BECAUSE YOU DONT LIKE WHAT THEY HAVE DONE OR BUILT OUT OF BASICALLY CARS THAT WERE JUNK & BEING PARTED OUT & NOW THEY ARE LIVING BREATHING CHASIS'S THAT PEOPLE ARE HAVING A GREAT DEAL OF ENJOYMENT!!!! LIFE IS SHORT!!!!

I think you misinterpret Marcel's intent. Both of you have valuable backgrounds to show.

Thank you, wish i could make it to the Nationals this year to view this car. BTW whatever the owner decides, the current blue looks great with that interior.

Thank you for posting. Any engine photos? BTW I don't believe Marcel meant any criticism for the respray. He tries to document the cars as they come up. I think it is wonderful that you are restoring this beauty. Will you bring it back to Argento? I think it looks terrific either way and hope you document and post your progress photos.

Everybody knows Datsun/Nissan copied the 275GTB design back then. I saw those Datsun's as a kid thinking they looked great until I discovered 275GTB photos and realized how clumsy the imitation had been.

Just a question to Greg out of curiosity. Have you (Or the owner) considered not to do a "Bolt & Nut" restoration on this wonderful car. If the interior and most of the mechanical stuff is original and their is no major rust then I believe the car could be carefully brought back to safe driving condition and used and displayed as is. I know it might sound controversial but is appears to me that original patina is worth more both in money but also among the audience if it can be worded like this? Maybe it is even possible to remove the sloppy paint job and make the silver paint shine again?

    Best, Peter

I would 100% restore this car to new condition. Most of us did not get to enjoy such car as new, and this is a chance to relieve that missed opportunity. I don't want a tired example, I would prefer to know that it is in tip top condition and drive without worry. . Just my opinion--my 70 year old body won't go like it used to, so consider whether you would like to be "restored" to your prime condition in your 20's.
