First, I'd like to thank everyone for replying to my email of several weeks ago when I purchased 275
GTB #08669 and posted it asking for some advice and information. As it turns out ,the build sheet on my car, according to a Ferrari Market Letter email I received, says that origujnal delivery was without bumpers (for what that is worth). Also, the original knock offs on my car are hexagonal nuts without ears. As I understand it, in Germany in 1966 knock offs with ears were not permitted and my car was originally delivered in Germany. If I want to replace them with 3 eared knock offs, what is the period correct configuration? Concave with a horse in the center or something else ?

Not an expert, but I believe bent ears for Borranis (with the hand in the center) and straight ears (with a horsey) for Campys. I have a set of each for my 330GTC, and this is the configuration I use. If you have Cromodoras I don't have a clue.

Just checked...the bent-ears have a horsey in the center, too. Sorry.

The wire wheels should have the bent 3 ear knock off, type 32. Some have a horse and some have a hand. A special knock off tool is available as well made by a company called Seaportmold in Ohio.

Thanks. My tool kit which is original has a special tool for the octagonal nut without ears. Are you referring to a tool for the 3 eared knock offs?

Do a search in F-chat for "seaportmold". The 3rd thread "knockoff tool and battery clamp" has a photo showing a three ear knock off and the tool. You will also want to get a long pipe and 3/4 inch socket to use with it.
