I know David well and he is a very honorable guy. If you have interest call him ask a ton of questions and fly out to see for yourself.

    16K miles

    ZFFPA16B000056343

    Estimate 350K-500K

    Mention my name to David.

Make sure it's US legal. If not converted it won't be until 2010.

I also know David Gooding, and have heard some good reports relative to other auction houses.

However, please allow me to point out the following:

The car does not have 16k miles as you state. It has roughly 10k miles, and the clock recently showed 16,876 km, to be precise. However, you can be forgiven for any inaccuracy, as the auction house themselves were not even aware that this was the case until I pointed this out to them! They obviously assumed the car's odometer to read in miles, which is not the case. I think the car's value just went up a dollar or two in their estimation. I should point out that this has already been shown on the 288 GTO thread on December the 23rd 2008 (page 131, post number 2620) with a posting of the car's km odometer by myself.

The car is unquestionably US legal. Here too, this was shared by myself in the aforementioned post on the 288 GTO thread, and the exact date's of the car's EPA & DOT releases are posted there, as msgobe or anyone else can see. Again, the auction company had no idea (!) as they were unable to answer my client's question regarding same. Id like to point out that the USA legality of this car has been double-checked by myself in person with the Department of Transportation, and documentation exists on file proving same.

I personally have not driven this car, carefully inspected it, or reviewed its service records. Gooding assures us that come the day-before the auction, we, along with all others, will be afforded same.

It goes without saying that I have absolutely no affiliation with this car, Gooding, or the seller. I am just an interested party on behalf of someone else who is interested, and am further interested just because its a GTO.

    PM received & replied!

Im unaware of any damage history...

Forgot to mention: on the GTOs that came into the USA, some compliance agents changed the speedo to a miles unit, whilst the odometer remained in kilometers, although this is rare, even for the cars brought into USA compliance. Usually, they simply left the speedo facia in kilometers, but Im reliably informed by a compliance agent that the odo always remained in km.
