Actually having just dug out my very dusty old example it seems the actual F40 prototype used for the model was probably the chassis slightly before this one, as the model is fitted with the early rear perspex cover with the greater number of slats, and no foglights in the rear bumper.

The Ferrari 348 has a two-piece folding version of these mirrors.

I believe the ones on the F40 Prototype are single-piece static items.

If we really must know I could ask Tom.

You've asked this question before, and the GTO's ask price has been twice posted, do you not read before you post?

    For a world record.

    The long way home
Joe, since the price of the 288 was posted, can you share the price achieved (or at least the ask) on the F40? Thanks

3.5 $ was the F40, and the GTO?

Holy Smoke! then again I guess its a case of try and find another example of a very rare F40 such as this one, especially in such condition and with such provenance.

Don't forget, another difference is the lack of a tow hook connection on the front bumper.

$4.5mm asking for the GTO and $3.5mm sale on the F40 based on Joe's comments. Not bad at all. I was hoping they'd be bought together as a pair.
