Pierre Bardinon got the 288GTO Evoluzione because the factory "forgot" to ask him if he was interested or not by a F-40. To apologize, they sold him the car. P. Bardinon enjoyed it on his private track but soon become bored of the car. It was still a prototype, unfinished with lots of setup and things to care for, parts to replace or improve. "You'll had to wait a few laps for the slick tires to be at a good temperature and when they finally are... the brakes are gone". The car was more often in the garage with mechanics than on the track. After selling the car, P. B. bought a new, unregistred F-50 ; then removed the mirrors, fitted it with slicks and used it exclusively on his private track...

He also sold all his non V-12 engined vintage Testarossas because he think they were boring to drive (...).

BTW. Chapal is a brand of vintage-like leather clothes for pilots (shoes, jackets, helmets, etc...).
