If the picture in the ad is the item being sold, then the leather F40 luggage with the tag on it appears identical to stock...the name tag is sewn in the exact same spot as mine...good price.

Dear Comrades Joe Sackey and RufMD,

The English F-40 luggage does not seem to have this propensity for chassis numbers and names. All mine has on it is F-40 in large print on the front of each piece. I have previously neglected to mention that all participants in the World Record F-40 Parade at Silverstone this year were presented with a beautiful Schedoni credit card caselet.

    With kind regards,

    512 Tea Are

Incorrect. I contacted the seller who informed me it is an original piece & it looks like mine so I have to agree. The price reflects the fact that it is one piece and not the full set. They all have the tag sewn on. As it is the major unit of the 3 piece set however, it would make sense that a full set could be had for $3000-3500...

You are 100% correct about the price reflecting just one peice of luggage, and I misunderstood the seller.

However, your quote above that "they all have the tag sewn on" is wholly incorrect. See pics......

Many original peices of luggage I have seen (this one having belonged to a certain gentleman name Bob Rapp jr who owned a 1990 F40) had the name tags riveted on. This was done in a very clever way using reverse pop-off studs allowing you to remove said unit without harming the luggage itself, by disconnecting the rivets from the inside and facilitating the changing of the name tag.

Yet still, every original peice of luggage I have ever inspected has the inside lining flaking off and deteriorating (as I sadly found out when usuing this set this past August), and so I orederd a new set of the now infamous oh-so-expensive items from Schedoni.

If anyone wishes me to report on any particular peices I shall be at the sellers house in the morning.

    Sewn on and riveted on.

Mine has blemishes and marks on it including water damage, which is typical of many I see that come to the market seperated from the cars in which they belong.

When my new set comes from Schedoni, I will seek out the current owner of the ex-Bob Rapp F40, and let him have the luggage back with the car...

The "black gel" body panels are not NOS. These are reproduction items. I informed Mike of this when he sent me the list a few days ago to review it.

My wife tells me it was hard to get and a big deal. She is very dissapointed that I wear it to do yard work and gardening among other things. However, its a faithful companion I could never sell :)
