    Hello,

    Last Easter I was In Portofino (Italy) and I came across a fantastic 288 GTO with the following UK plate "308 GTO"

    Is the owner one of the chaps in this forum?

    Could have been a 308 with a body kit to make it look like a 288 GTO. I have seen one before on eBay

    I recall seeing a post by a member here who had custom made this conversion and documented the entire process in a website. You might try the search function of the forums to search for it.

    Plate "308 GTO" is currently on a REAL 288 GTO, not on a conversion ....

    Yes she is. I know GTOs quite well and she is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. She has powered windows and a/c and everything seems to be original.

    Do you know the owner?

    The plate has been on several 288 GTOs. But unfortunately I don't know the current owner, sorry.

    I know 308 GTO was on 56759 belonging to the late Mr Jim Wallis

    This GTO was on the Monaco GP this year. I live in Spain and there was a special about Fernando Alonso who was giving a ride with a journalist around the circuit on a bike!!!! and the GTO were following them. The owner did probably liked it that his GTO was filmed, because he stayed behind them for quite a while.
