Hi, Does anyone know if these wheels pop up much on the secondary market? It would be great to find an alternative to the $40,000 cost from Ferrari
Imho the carbon ones are a waste of money. They will be very expensive to maintain and most likely require replacing if curbed.
I have not seen them pop up on the secondary market yet for Ferrari. There are only a handful of manufacturers that produce them with Carbon Revolution being the first and largest for the masses. I have them on my GT500 and 296 GTB. They look great and net the greatest net result weight savings out of any option on either cars.
Carbon wheels are great but NOT for Ferrari prices. I have them on my Z06 and love them. They're 30% of Ferrari costs and look better.
great for unlimited budgets and/or track use (lightness, unsprung weight), but for a street car you are going to cry if one of them gets damaged. lol, my dealer demo has them and no one is allowed to drive the car really because of it. Not saying they are fragile at all, just very expensive and can't be cheaply fixed.
I don't think I've ever seen second-hand Ferrari carbon wheels for sale. I'd imagine that if so, they'd go for even more than retail because of how rare they are (nobody would/should ever buy them for their street car) and all that.
600 miles on mine. so far so good. car handles amazingly. drove a standard car to compare before ordering them. i'd be lying if i said it is a night and day difference, but there is a significant one on braking and turn in. BUT THEY LOOK SO HOT! i track my cars so i do notice a difference on the street. on track probably more. have gone over some moderate potholes by accident. wheels are fine. i don't curb my wheels so i don't worry about that. saw a pista with them- second owner. car has 12K on the clock. he's never had an issue. his had some small scratches and mild curb rash on one of them which he bought the car with months ago. will be tracking with them at sebring but will be going 5/10ths that day and will be staying well away from other traffic so i can well avoid any offroad excursions. i'll report back later. yes. they are expensive, but you only live once baby. PS- i live dangerously with my daily driver - look at what it's wearing. 3k miles no issues. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Also if you run AF package on the road the CF Wheels will further assist in "softening" the rough spots on the road to a degree.
i concur. in fact it is a weird feeling to experience CF wheels for the first time. on the big boy above it was disconcerting on turn in. the car just turned so much quicker than i expected (we have a same year RR with same sized but forged wheels). almost turned into the curve the first few times. input is less than needed. takes some adjustment. rebound distances are numbed. car fells like 500 lbs lighter. less of such a different dramatic feeling on a lighter car like the 296. can't wait for the track. PLUS- absolutely NO brake wear so far and NO brake dust. wheels are clean all the time unless i drive over muddy roads.
