Did you figure out if your GTB has the lead/ acid gel battery or the previous Li Ion one?

It has the lead acid battery. I found the leaflet in the wallet pack. It is a dec 22 build car.

I was supposed to go Blenheim also but cannot make it now. Are you going to Ferrari Passione on Sunday at Silverstone ?

On the SF90, they discovered that the chargers would not work if they went through ANY extension cord....super sensitive to the current level or whatever. Just a reminder that the 296 is likely the same.

That’s actually not a true statement. I heard this rumor as well, but I use an extension cord for both my previous 296 and my current SF90 and have never had a single charging issue with either of them. It works exactly as it’s supposed to.

That's what I was told by both a dealer and two separate SF90 owners, but I don't have one so I defer to your experience then.

Yes- And was actually surprisingly impressed with the 296-

But all this batterymobile ******** nauseates me- And when I read countless threads on "bricked" SF90s and now "dead" 296s and recall watching them have to sell a $2M LaFerrari via video/pictures at an auction because the ****ing thing couldn't move on to the auction stage because it's "battery" was dead is simply ridiculous

I "hate" a lot of things but not cars nor car people- you want to spend $400k on something you have to plug in and when it ****s up you cant move it that's awesome- Have fun

My dealer never told me that. I think one person might have had a bad experience with a shoddy extension cord and the rumor spread from that.

What I was told by dealer was that the extension cord has to be a certain gauge or it will not work. 14 gauge will work under 50 ft. If over 50 you have to use 12 gauge. To be safe probably best to use 12.

Another wonderful tidbit of information. If the windows are up when the car shuts down, don’t open and then close the door all the way. The window does not move down and will make a notch into the A pillar when attempting to close. Image Unavailable, Please Login

That sucks. But wouldn’t the windows not going down similarly apply to any car with a completely dead battery?

No worries- My post was poorly written- I actually loved the 296 and did not expect to at all- performance was insane and sounded amazing- which I definitely did not expect- I'm just <obviously> staunchly opposed to EV/Hybrid cars in general- And especially EV/Hybrid exotics- But that's just my opinion/stance - No knock on owners of the cars or the cars themselves-

Yes. But the point is you will damage your A pillar if you try to close it. That hasn’t happened on my other cars when the battery has died.

On other cars, it only "stresses" the gasket - so it's better avoided, but not that serious.

Sorry to here this… any further news? Manage to restart? Trace the fault?… and did you damage the car when the window didn’t shut or just didn’t shut?
