Hi there, I only receive 3 to 6 radio stations with the FM-DAB band. That cannot be it. There's a bug somewhere or I am to stupid to use the radio. The Am list is completely empty.
Sorry was just kidding as I almost never switch on my radio in F cars. I don't have my 296 yet so can't really help, most probably q for your dealer?
According to the dealer 1-2 weeks, I will count myself happy if the radio will be fixed in 4 weeks ..
Just received my car 3 weeks ago. Can I ask other owners, do you find the reception on the DAB radio extremely weak. I have other cars with DAB and they do not lose signs all so easily. It is super annoying. Also mine shows an option for non DAB FM but it is greyed out and cannot be selected, are others the same? Thanks for any advice.
I got the same problems since the delivery of the car. Sometimes I only receive 4 to 12 radio stations, in my garage only 2-3 (I have no bunker garage). The dealer changed the radio unit and the antenna (windshield). The problems persist. The diagnostic computer from the dealer says everything fine. It's frustrating, especially when the dealer simply does not care. And yes, I can receive only DAB stations and no classic FM stations.
FM radio? That still exists? Really even the XM stuff feels old-school already. Most people just stream Spotify from their phone. Or some other phone app. The Apple CarPlay stuff works better than most any OEM infotainment. I love the way that Singer is doing it in their resto-mod Porsche’s…. It’s just a single knob for volume, that’s it. Everything else is just your phone. Keeps the cabin clean and driver focused.
This is the "single dial" radio in those Porsche's....... super clean and simple..... no screen at all: https://youtube.com/shorts/U6AC-w4ejv4?si=V1OVR4wtK88qIBFH
Thanks for that valuable information. Sounds exact the same as mine and probably an inherent weakness in the cars radio and not particular to mine. Ridiculous that a car of this value cannot have a decent radio like a 20k Mazda. As my drive group tell me “Normale”
Has anyone noticed that when selecting favorite radio stations by checking the box "filter favorites", that when turning off the car, it defaults every time to all stations?
Yea I have this exact issue and reported to dealer. They gave it back to me apparently fixed and it wasn’t. Ongoing battle together with ADAS emergency braking which does not work. Voice control which does not work for navigation. Previously mentioned terrible radio reception. I am on the path of asking for a refund. They have had the car 6 weeks with little progress or contact.
I actually have an SF90, but I think it's the same radio. I previously had a 488. Both the 488 and the SF have very weak FM reception. I am guessing that it's because these cars don't have nearly as much steel mass s a typical car. I think radio reception is not only dependent on the actual antenna, but also the "base" which in a typical car is the grounding to all the steel. The need to go through menu pages every time you start the car to select favorites is horrible. I'm trying to figure out if they actually designed it that way which is nuts, but I'm starting to think that's how it's designed and not a defect. I'm curious as to whether others have the same issue and if so, what their dealers have told them?
