From the mine went 30 to the time it was 90 was four months . That included a lost month of August for shutdown and the fact it is a 3/4 layer paint which adds a few weeks . From the time it went 40 to finishing it only took 3 weeks . BTW mine lands in my port in 3 days yet I do not have my final production pic , what a laugh ! I think they have a poor internet connection in Maranello ,
Perhaps people canceling - those may not ever be able to order again and certainly not a limited edition. Pretty silly people by losing a deposit, hardly an enthusiast of Ferrari. Depending on VS allocations - a sitting new 296 on dealers floor could be a golden bargaining chip for a VS. Could be -
I hope that’s some sarcasm. I think even the most enthusiast of Ferrari would second guess losing a 10-20k deposit rather than buying a car and instantly losing 100k. Especially if it was just a car they were buying to stay in the game. I think a lot of very loyal Ferrari enthusiasts are smart business people and are done with the games and not willing to take a bath on a new car.
Not sold out, you can absolutely still order a 296 GTS. I was just told by my dealer if I wanted one, I can put an order in just a couple of weeks ago.
JDT is correct, owners are still requesting 296GTS at an unexpected rate, Ferrari listened, and opened the order books back up... S
I was under the impression 296 GTS was continually open with no close date announced, but 296 GTB had reportedly been closed but now seems to be in last call after in theory having been closed once a few years ago then some last year?
You have a while to wait : Once you are at 10R I would say you have 4 months to get to status 90 this includes 4 layer paint that adds time. I base that on my experience with my GTS that has just landed. It may be quicker if you do not have 3/4 layer paint Then it is dependent where the car is being shipped Mine went 10 R end of June and was on the boat end of November , of course I lost a month during August holiday shutdown. I hope this helps.
Yes - 10R on 12/11/24, 85 2/16/25 (2 months from 10R to finished and waiting for transport). Dealer estimates up to 2 months (April) to arrive in Scottsdale, AZ. I'm hoping it gets here before any new tariffs do!!
Can’t remember if I’ve posted this here or not. But this was my timeline. Atelier car, 4 layer paint. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I was contacted by my SA the week of Feb 25....that my 296 GTS was in port in NJ....I have inquired weekly....the GM and SA say they dont know why it has not been released....Has anyone experienced this situation....they tell me they are going to contact the Ferrari rep...but all I get is crickets??
I'm sort of starting to wonder if Ferrari is trying to throttle back / slow production to clear the market of the used car / falling values. While I am fully accepting of taking the depreciation, it's being widely publicized. To the extent that my McLaren sales advisor is calling me telling me that I should lease the car so I don't lose my a**. Can't be great for sales.
The Mac salesman was only referenced because it’s the narrative. He did cite that they have one they can’t sell, which is true because I’ve seen it on their website. The narrative right now seems worse than the reality tbh. But I know the Ferrari dealers are hearing it too, from talking to my SA.
Narratives! IME, narratives are other folks mental activity overlaid on the actual objective factual occurrences. This may or may not be accurate. It applies to all aspects of life, not just cars.
