Just curious to hear what people think of the 296 GTS that was announced today. My take: I recently bought a 488GTB. Trying to decide if I put in an order for the 296GTS and swap out in a couple years (?). I'm cool with the hybrid. Daily driver is a Porsche Panamera Turbo S e-hybrid, and no complaints on hybrid system. NA to Turbo to Hybrid... it's where we're going. I'm not a huge spider guy, but looks great with the top up, and at least it's there if I ever want drop-top. Also went w GTB on 488 because I love seeing the engine. Saw on the 296GTS video that there's still a (small) window view of the engine - neat! Still trying to decide if I LOVE the looks. Curves are a little more subtle/steam-lined than my 488 or an F8, but think it's already growing on me. Would love to hear what people think of the 296GTS!
Absolutely gorgeous! Blu Corsa was already planned color for my car and those unveil photos are just amazing. Signed pre-order agreement last week and paid deposit today for 296GTS, also replaced desktop and lockscreen photos with those hires unveil photos on laptop so will remember every day what I am waiting and working for!
In my opinion that brake light bridge is horrid, now queue the posts saying how the VIPs cannot get enough of it and how the rest of us do not get it.
Hopefully you have better luck than me putting an order in. I was told by my dealer I’d have to have a Roma first despite a Portofino and F8S purchase to be considered for an allocation. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
My dealer told me two weeks ago to place an order for a GTB and they would work on changing it to a GTS for a $10,000 non-refundable deposit. I didn't do it. He said it would probably be too late if I waited until the release.
Just like the coupé, it is a car for consumers, not for enthusiasts, the battery bank behind the seat makes it obsolete before it is marketed...
It looks like they're all going to have battery banks going forward ... so no more enthusiasts' cars?
If you think you might like to do this, put your order in now. The recent history is such that these cars do get sold and then you are left wanting it. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
AF package makes little sense to me on a spider since a spider is heavier than a coupe and not a track car. As with the SF90, I did AF on the coupe, not on the spider. I look forward to seeing how sporty the coupe drives. Everyone who has driven it speaks of it as a fun and spirited drive. So a little bit heavier car but with a convertible hardtop should be an enjoyable car. This is the F8 spider replacement and we can all see how popular that car has been both in terms of sold out orders and strong resale price. Personally I still like the Pista more than the F8 but I am biased toward performance and less weight. My wife despises blue cars so I cannot really get behind the blue version shown in the marketing drop. I think a spider lends itself to a bright color with the possibility to even add a loud interior. It is always fun to develop the spec.
Just saw the video today and I love it. Called the dealership in Guangzhou, I’m a first time customer (but they helped with the Speciale inspection and I’m probably the only foreigner they’ve seen in a while) and they didn’t mention any waiting time or list besides about 1 year to wait for delivery. deposit in China is a bit ridiculous, we’re talking 125k$ Estimated price without going too crazy on options and tax included would be an eye watering … 750k$ The government sure does take his fair share but it’s well known Ferrari is milking Chinese customers as well. It’s kinda painful to think about they fact I could probably get two in the US for that price. Exploring the Macau option and we’ll see. Oh and two more things, I have trouble liking the stripe of the AF and the blue color looks amazing .. but also too Lotus for me. I think I’ll go yellow cause the Speciale is red and having two reds in a slightly different tone would make it look awkward in my garage
