    Hey guys,
has anyone here already specced their 296 Speciale?
If you have, share your configs – let’s see your creativity!

While playing around with the configurator, I found the lower inner door sill trim option – you can get it in matte carbon or Alcantara. The standard one is listed as Tessuto Kripton Nero (Kripton black fabric).
Does anyone know what this stuff actually looks like? I can’t find it anywhere in the official photos or materials.

Attached is a pic of the carbon version, since that’s the only one I’ve seen on a car.

I would assume that this is the same carpet as in the regular 296

It will be a technical fabric of sorts. If you have had a Pista or any other VS, it is nothing very special. Alcantara is $6083 (plus $2607 if in a non-standard color) and Carbon Fiber is $9152. I actually expected that price to be higher, but alas it is not!

Does the technical fabric extend from the footwell to the wall in back of the seats? It looks like the same thing but I don't have the personalization guide yet to know for sure.

Thanks a lot for the materials! Seems like the lower part of the dashboard is also done in Krypton Black as standard. Would love to see some pics of a 296 Speciale with the standard material — anyone have any photos?

I have found that the videos show different configurations. They aren't all exactly the same throughout the videos even though you can't really tell unless you pause it to see the details when they are showing the exterior and interior.

To me, the CF is a no brainer…assuming you like it. For a few thousand more than alcantara, it’s so interesting. No other car has that option. I will ppf it as well.

I’d probably go with Alcantara or just keep it stock… I just wanted to see how it looks, but there are no pictures anywhere showing the standard version.

Congrats on your tailor-made! I’m not that far in the game yet and have an early standard coupé model, with the order call in two
Months, so I’m looking for options and informations…

For next year I’m building 12Cilindri in the Atelier program, but in the future I’m also planning something tailor-made .

By the way, I’m adding a photo of the standard material from the SF90XX and wondering if something like this will be available as standar for the 296? Thanks for your help!

It’s quite an experience with TM. Atelier will be just as good, and you won’t have to use non-automotive materials and that saves big bucks. I imagine the material is something like that. It’s a fabric that I love on the 458 Speciale, but one I did not like as much on the 488 Pista. Generally, I am a fan of the lightweight fabrics, but I just don’t know what this one looks like.

Nice! It’s great to hear that Atelier is such a big experience. I’ll save that for a special model in the future—I hope it won’t be too long before that happens

Atelier met my expectations because I’ve gone through a session and you can really do a lot of interesting things, including different seat style etc... For this moment I’m happy with it.

As for that lightweight material, it really did look great on the 458, but I honestly can’t remember how it looked on the 488 since I haven’t seen one in a long time and I don’t own one. I’m also a fan of lightweight fabrics, and the one on the SF90XX floor looks really great. However, the headliner material—also considered a lightweight fabric— just looks like something from a mid-range car’s headliner and you can’t replace it even in Atelier. Maybe in Tailor-Made they could do something about it, which is why I really want to find out what material the 296 uses. If it’s high quality, I’d like to use it, but if it’s not good, I’ll go for Alcantara. Even the dealer can’t tell me right now what it looks like. Thanks a lot for everything, cheers!

They can replace any fabrics that are not impacted by the airbags. So, for example, the headliner and upper dash of a coupe has to be leather or Alcantara that is approved for airbags. I suppose on the spider, you can play with materials more, but the upper portion of the door is not carbon because they need Alcantara for the airbag.

I’m with you. I’ve had Maranello, Fuoco, Magma, and Libano coming. Maranello is my favorite. I’m seriously considering it for this. Magma is my dynamic, but not as pretty.

Agreed. I spent more time on those ones, and the blue and green were just thrown together.

There should be a way to tell if it is the same material on the speciale, right? wouldn't it have the same name? I actually really like the look of that material as well, for sure better than Alcantara.

Congratulations on the Aperta! My colors are red, so I think I’d go for Magma — especially since on the SP3 Daytona, combined with the blue seat, it looks absolutely stunning! I’ve already chosen my color scheme and I’m going with a classic: Rosso Corsa with an Argento stripe and a black roof. I’m just not sure which stripe to choose yet

I asked my dealer the same question, but there are no cars available yet to compare these materials in person… They’ve sent an inquiry, but with the summer break — you know how it is with the Italians — we might be waiting a while.:D
In the SF90XX catalogs, this material is called Tessuto tecnico nero (black technical fabric), while in the 296 Speciale they refer to it as Tessuto Kripton nero (Kripton black fabric).

Congrats! Nice choices, one thing to note, some detailers might also PPF the paddles, I really don’t like how that feels, its easy enough to reverse after the fact, but worth making a note to your detailer if you do or don’t want that.

I would note Blu Elettrico comes in 2 flavors: original and 2020. The 2020 is a bit darker, and reads to my eyes more like a super version of Blu TDF. I think it might work a little better on the 296, but thats going to come down to how each of us sees it.

I think if you do the green Id reconsider the stripes and calipers in yellow, or the seats in red.
