Dude the 296 is so unbelievable! You will love it.

I think the Artura is great but after driving the 296 you would hunt for the extra power.

  2. From everyone I know that has driven both (296 and Artura) all say they are not in the same class.

While both are good, the 296 is just in a different level.

And, yes, you spend less up front, the depreciation may (or may not) be the same, so the total net loss after 3 years ownership may be the same, but the experience most definitely will not be.

It's sort of like you can buy meatloaf for $10 or grass fed prime grade ribeye for $100, and both will feed you just fine, but the experience between eating the two will be infinitely different.

Sometimes life isn't all about money; it's about experiences.

Buy the Artura if you enjoy driving it more than the 296, not because it's cheaper.

I hear you Condor but I have other cars for shear power IMO.
I will drive both though to do a proper comparison

Agreed and will drive them both properly - Just considering the options at this stage as this will be a 2-3 year car.

Artura would make a great daily driver.

Both of your posts from yesterday are incredibly insightful. While I think the 296 is a terrific car (I had a deposit on a GTS) it’s not particularly well suited as a daily driver and for anyone built like me (6’ 3”, 220lbs) it’s very difficult to get into and almost impossible to exit from. When you combine that with the quirky dash, glitchy electronics, $400-500k price, and so many for sale in the secondary market, a price drop is inevitable.

    I hear ya.

The funny thing for me was, after driving the 296 it actually makes me want to buy the Artura as well for a daily.

They are such good value for money!

Matt Farah drive the 296 GTB and then the Artura shortly after and his pick was the Artura.

I think the big issue all presenters have had was the Ferrari vs McLaren UI. It’s really remarkable Ferrari messed it up that badly. But they did. For daily driving purposes it would be difficult to live with that. For entertaining driving it matters less.

Just as bad in the Purosangue which is also concerning, especially for a car that's supposed to be a daily. The interface in the Urus is very easy to use and is flawless.

I watch a lot of his reviews and I’ve driven (or owned) a lot of the cars he reviews and I often disagree with his sentiment on those cars. Funny how people see things differently. Even items that one would think are relatively straightforward.

About three weeks ago I had an invite to do 20 minutes at the track with the Artura (at Okeechobee). Sorry, was not inspired. If you are a big guy (in first world terms),the cabin is too confining. I will take the 296 all day. Also did a test drive at the Collection and the car had issues and could not test all the parameters of its capability. Just not convinced of its long term serviceability.

MC 20 is a better buy for a daily. 40% of the price of he 296 used) and $100k less than the Artura.

Agree. Artura spider (when they make it) would be great addition to 296 GTB!

  19. How is the Maser a better daily?

Serious question? Those diehedral doors are a pain in the ass to use on a regular basis, cool the first few times, but after, say, about the 10th time, it gets really old.

I love Harry and respect his reviews a lot. I will have to go back and watch what he said.

Sometimes the problem with Harry is that he is a bit of a one eyed Brit.

Nothing malice just a natural bias IMO.

Not the Turbo GT, it was incredibly poor. Changing the radio station was a massive effort, same for the Taycan. What these auto mnfrs dont get is the we want simple and a combo of knobs and touchscreen vs. all touch screen and having to go 3 screens deep for a simple request. Quite frankly, it is dangerous. With the new Ferrari interface, you have probably the worse controls and screen in any car including a KIA. It is almost unusable.

    That’s interesting.

I have the Taycan and do t have a problem with it.

My 992 GT3 is brilliant too.

If Ferrari was like that no one would ever complain.

I have to say, I think the lack of higher asking prices or even the large amount of supply is partially due to uninteresting specs. When I look through the Ferrari Preowned page or other sites it’s just a lot of ehhh specs. Nothing crazy or interesting. A lot of what I consider “base” seat interiors. Very few cars where I would look at it and say “that’s cool!”
