Just got a call from my dealer 2 hours ago. For reference I've been down for a 296 Speciale confirmed with a $30k deposit.

He said yesterday they got an information packet from Ferrari with pricing on the coupe and aperta.

$527,142 base price on coupe. $634,000 on aperta. I was shocked. Told him about the speculation on 470 base price, he said no, those were the official prices they just got. By the way I'm in US, northeast states.

He also said Ferrari wants a $40k deposit, so he's calling all clients that had put a $30k down, letting them know he pricing now that they have it, and if they want to keep the order, increase deposit to $40k.

I asked about base options list, and option pricing, he said US dealers don't have that info yet.

Oh, I also asked about timing, he said first cars wont be until late 26, and I should expect 2.5 years from now for delivery. Finally, I asked about tariffs. He said they got their first customer 12 Cilindri yesterday that had an additional tariff charge passed to customer. So far they've been told no tariffs on the hybrid cars. Doesn't know if this applies to Speciale, but that by the time the cars are delivered assumes tariff situation will be totally different.

Not great news, but this is fresh firsthand from a US dealership.

Hot off the press so to speak! Does the dealership keep the now 40k deposit or does that go to Ferrari for 'safe keeping' now?

Maybe they sent him Canadian pricing by accident!

Lol, nope, paid for my last Ferrari in USD.

I hope somehow all the math you guys have been doing is actually the real deal, but for right now I'm gonna trust my Ferrari dealer.

My quote wasn’t math. Straight from my dealer. Maybe there’s a tariff calculation?

Also, the dealer configurator had option pricing in it. Believe me or not, I was there at the dealership and that number I quoted for the aperta was sent directly via email to me from the GM.

No it does cost as a tailor made option for owners who want to be part of the Ferrari 'family' BUT don't want a track car experience. This is strictly street driving and includes an extra year of warranty plus express service at your local official dealership. :D

Fascinating. I was referring to the folks trying to convert from GBP.

Someone's US dealer has incorrect information then. I've texted one of my friends who is a challenge racer and "Ferrari big" in the Virginia area. Let him know what my dealer told me and asked if he has any info from his contacts. Will follow up when he responds.

I heard (second hand, but from a credible source) that there's an 8.5% "tariff surcharge" on top of the $537,524 base price for the SA.

He didn't have pricing for the coupe, but I believe $537k matches the price @Lagunae92 was told for the SA. So, presumably the 8.5% surcharge would also be in addition to the $470,364 @ferrariguyf12 was told for the coupe. That would bring the total to just over $510k. Closer to what @UndergroundGardener heard, though still $17k shy.

I have no first hand information.

The bad news is, this is a big number. The good news is that by calling it a tariff surcharge, presumably it means they'd roll it back if the tariffs are reduced. But...I'm not holding my breath for that...

I was told essentially same as @Lagunae92: $476k coupe, $543k aperta. Regarding the configurator, the free carbon was identical to that posted by @SECRET.

That pricing is way WAY out of alignment with the market. $527k base price is so stupid its funny. Hard pass. And I am #1 at our dealer and a VIP.

'base' 296 owners should rejoice. If the entry price with basic options of a VS is 600k we will certainly see higher prices on the base 296. FOR SURE, we will keep our 296 GTS and call it a day.

PS you guys realize that 812 GTS's are in the same price range? Sorry, 812 GTS for the win every day. https://www.dupontregistry.com/autos/listing/2022/ferrari/812--gts/442275

Lol, I have a 2023 812 GTS I bought new, and I was thinking the exact same thing. Is the 296 Speciale worth a higher base msrp than my fully optioned 812 GTS.... tough one.

In another market I deal with, the price difference between standard and Speciale is 33% that’s already taking into account the extras included in the Speciale specs. Given that it doesn’t appear to be a particularly limited model, it will be interesting to see who takes the bait.

As long as someone buys anything at any price, why deprive oneself....?
Just by looking at the ridiculous stripe with the proposed year number, the story was written.
