I suspect a lot of cancelled orders due to economic conditions in Canada. I tried delaying my order until later this year and they were very pushy for me to complete now.

I know two people in my personal network that walked away from their orders. Doesn't help the luxury taxes in BC are adding $50k to the cost of the car.

Alberta doesn't have this problem... Might be why back log is higher.

My 296GTS is at status 60 and the 10th letter of the VIN is S - I believe that means 2025 model year. R should be 2024.

Don’t blame you. The wait time is extraordinary for a standard production Ferrari. Am getting fed up myself tbh - unsure whether to proceed with it. By the time it materialises it will probably be old hat.

That’s part of my reasoning. There’s already multiple 296s in my area. Fortunately, I’m the only person in my immediate vicinity with a SF90, so there’s still somewhat of a “rarity” factor there.

The problem i see is Ferrari are bringing out more models by the year. Its hard to say where its all going to end up, but im inclined to agree the 296 is beginning to make less sense unless a vs is a necessity. And even then it may well be too costly in comparison. Its a tough call.

My 296 GTS is status 90 as of yesterday. It was 60 twelve days ago. Not sure how long it will take to get to Scottsdale AZ, but I will try to keep posting so others can estimate time once production starts. Still no 3rd picture (finished) yet.

When did you place your order? Did you actually get told it was at 10G (accepted ) at anytime.

Def no 296’s in my area. Pittsburgh sees a ton of Porsches and Vettes. Some McLarens. A fair amount of Lambo, for whatever reason. But fewer Ferraris.

I got an package offer from Ferrari dealer which has 812 Competizione Aperta, 296 GTS and 2x SF90 Spiders all at MSRP and they are promising atleast two exclusive allocations guranteed in future.

Regarding exclusive allocations it depends how exclusive. Certain models like the F80 sale confirmation would come from the Ferrari factory. The dealer can suggest a certain customer but the factory decides who gets the allocation. For some other models the dealer may choose one customer over another to get an allocation sooner. Orders can take a year or more to process so an opportunity for a quicker delivery is a definite bonus.
For the CompetizioneA that was very exclusive and you would again be fortunate to snag one of those cars. As I recall customers could not order both and most got the coupe Competizione only. The CompetizioneA was often reserved typically for clients who participated in the annual Ferrari factory Cavalcade (driving event in Italy) . There were 5 special 10th Anniversary of the Ferrari Cavalcade paint colors available only to those owners who participated in the drive in Italy. All Ferrari models built have a customer already. The Ferrari factory only build cars without customers for their own use. That would be cars for journalists to drive or cars that showcase tailor made options to be displayed by Ferrari and then auctioned off to factory dealers later. The only exception is the show cars built when a new model is introduced by the factory. The factory will ship the same car to a number of display locations for a preview. If a car is built then it had a customer name attached to it. As it typically isn't built for 'stock' at all. Someone else's loss can be your gain.

Wow that has to be the dealer taking deposits without allocation. You did not even get to spec the car ?

I feel very disappointed for you . My experience was the complete opposite . I hope whatever you buy next you have a better experience.

I spec'd it when I placed my deposit. I've ordered and received 3 cars from them since 2020 (F8, 296 GTB, SF90) with the 296 GTS and Puro also on order. The 296 is the only one I gave up on. Still waiting for the Puro.
