Hi gang. My buddies and I run a small but complex Formula 1 fantasy league. This season we're also running a 'F2' league, which is a second-chance F1 league with a shortened schedule and slightly simplified rules. There's no entry fees, it's just for fun. The 2008 winner gets an invite into the 2009 F1 league on an even basis with existing teams. We have room for maybe 10 more teams. If you think you might be interested, read http://www.ifgpf1.com/wik/index.php?title=2008_ifgp_F2_Fantasy_League#Overview and follow the link to the 2008 Rules so you can get a feel for it. PM me with any questions, or to let me know you're interested in an invite. The first race for this season is this coming weekend in Turkey.
What exactly do you do in this league? Do you have to try and find the best setup for your car or something else?
You're playing as a team principal. Given a certain budget, you have to choose an engine manufacturer, chassis manufacturer, and 5 drivers. You're trying to get the highest possible point total based on the real-world results of the teams. Certain drivers are worth more, certain engines/chassis are worth more. As you win, you gain prize money that can be used to upgrade your team. In a way, the 'F2' league is actually easier, as you already have a feel for what the teams and drivers can do. It's all handled via email, wiki and discussion boards.
