Congrats on a good run. The Mitty is nice event with some pretty cool cars.

How does the R stack up against the 996 Cup (assuming you've driven both)? What are the running costs compared to the Cup?

The R is down on power to the Cup and my car was updated to the RSR wide bodywork during its time in the Japanese Super GT series so its a brick aerodynamically compared to them but otherwise quite competitive in handling and braking. The costs are about the same except my cars bodywork is all carbon fiber so repairs can be pricey

an R is down on power relative to a cup? or are you comparing 996 R to 997 cup?

at any rate, awesome car and congrats on a great result!

Well done, endurance racing takes a mental fortitude to be consistent and quick adn preserve the equipment. Age and treachery can still prevail there!

FWIW my 2000 GT3 Cup had nowhere near 400 hp; but then again at PCA races it did seem slow

Indeed you are right. We finished ahead of many cars that ran faster lap times during the race including newer cup cars and such but our consistency, good pit stop and zero incidents put us ahead.

I thought the Mitty was for "vintage" cars?

HSR allows just about any car to race ...the Audi R8's are there as well as a 2007 Pescarolo and a 2007 Lola LMP1
