All, Need wiring connector help with my 81 GTSi, 2V FI, all OEM. These parts do not exist in the 80's FI Parts Cats or Owner's Manuals. Totally omitted. Any help in locating these items would be GREATLY Appreciated. A. Image Unavailable, Please Login 3-Spade: 2 vert, 1 horizontal. (Turn Signal w/Reverse Light). B. There are 4 of these connectors. You see two. All 4 are the same. Need black rubber boot too. The other two are brown and black. F. Image Unavailable, Please Login These connect the two Eng Mgnt Looms to the Main Wiring Harness in the engine bay, behind the driver (LHD), on the frame just forward of the oil cooler. For these: Image Unavailable, Please Login Try internet searching using: Bosch 1287013003 Bosch EV-1 connector or Bosch EV1 connector They may also be in the AMP Junior Timer Series of connectors. Search "827551-5" at the TE Connectivity website -- I think the drawing will show how the dash number sets the color (however, now getting the different colors may be difficult/impossible). This type: Image Unavailable, Please Login I believe are AMP (now TE Connectivity) MATE-N-LOK style connectors. I buy mine at DigiKey, and the DigiKey website would be a good place to search also -- but the problem is finding a needle in a haystack . I'm 99.9% sure that that three spade taillight connector is also an AMP/TE connectivity connector series.
For the older style (primarily for a carb 308 I'm restoring) this F-chat link helped: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/vintage-electrical-connectors.613915/ Also found these, hope this helps... - https://www.newark.com/amp-te-connectivity/180908-0/connector-accessory-fastin-faston/dp/68X3643 - https://www.mouser.com/TE-Connectivity/Connectors/Terminals/Fastin-Faston-Series/_/N-5g5u?P=1yzms1cZ1yzs6ii
This site has plugs very similar to the two pin crank sensor plugs http://www.vintageconnections.com/Products/Connectors Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Mark, you live in Germany. If you want to order in a free shop e.g. this is possible: www.kabelschuhe-shop.de ... https://www.kabelschuhe-shop.de/AMP-Universal-MATE-N-LOK you can switch to english language there. Paul
Mark, Steve is right with his additional "may also be" informations. In the shop: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login ... Paul
here i would not use the same ones: Image Unavailable, Please Login If you buy a SEN8 sensor you will get it with another connector. Paul
Any Idea what company 'M.A.' might be? Been Googling and haven't found anything. Long GONE Outta Business perhaps?
Auto Electric Supplies (formally The Toolbox Shop) in the UK has always had the best selection and price I have found, and shipping from the UK can be cheaper then domestic. https://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/home MULTIPLE CONNECTORS https://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/product_list/7 https://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/product/37/category/7 Also, check out their switch section. You might find some familiar faces. SWITCHES https://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/category/34 https://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/product_list/255
Paul, That is the AMP Jr Power Timer connection. Question: What sensors should I buy (assuming 3) but I am reading very conflicting data on what new parts from Magneti Marelli work in the 308 Series. There seems to be two different part numbers used, pending on .... engine number? Mine is a 1981 with a 'Build Date' of NOV 80.
Mark, this one is in your car: Image Unavailable, Please Login It is MM SEN 8B. I am not sure if you can buy it anymore. So i use the MM SEN 8D with the other connector: Image Unavailable, Please Login You have to enlarge the bores. Bore center distance 26 mm <-> 30 mm. Image Unavailable, Please Login Paul
Paul, Thanx!!!!! Need 3 of them, correct? As you guys have guessed, I am reverse engineering my two engine management looms. I'll post a few things to help others out if they wish to do the same in a new thread a bit later in the process. Here is why I'm undertaking this effort: Image Unavailable, Please Login Somebody cut and spliced a wire in there for some reason. It runs completely outside the Cavis Green Sleave/Shielding. Another: Image Unavailable, Please Login Notice the burnt Grey wire where it enters the Cavis 'Green Sleave' is burnt as well. And from a 'spare loom' I managed to get my hands on after about 15 years of looking: Image Unavailable, Please Login The Cavis sleeve is burnt COMPLETELY thru. And of course, there are mis-matches between the two looms and between them and the wiring diagrams in the '81 GTSi OMs. Typical ......
Oh, On a parts website I read even these 'pickups' are scheduled for DISCONTINUATION by MM soon. You all might want to pick-up a few spares: https://m.motointegrator.de/artikel/304987-drehzahlsensor-motormanagement-magneti-marelli-064820083010?gclid=CjwKCAjwmeiIBhA6EiwA-uaeFeEmgx8KilaukI-OpkAjZyQBq0ksvDiIPmHOhLv-HX0Y4B7pzlP_0hoCB-UQAvD_BwE Just a thought. The connector end appears to be: An AMP Junior Power Timer Connector. Those can be had for less than $2.00 each sans the actual metal connectors.
Ok Gents, Do these (SEN8D by MM) have an orientation to them in how they have to go into the bell housing surrounding the flywheel? On the new ones I just got for a song, not even including a dance, they had this green dot: Image Unavailable, Please Login Any ideas?
Not really , unless it’s a quality check dot, you know the kind of thing when somebody has checked to say it’s good to go when it’s manufactured. I don’t recall seeing a dot on the ones I’ve bought but there may have been. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
