Celebrating the long weekend by rebuilding the passenger rear axle cv joints, wheel bearings and diff to axle oil seal on my 87 US spec 3.2. Got the axle out, and the large 19mm bolt and dimpled washer at the differential flange. The flange doesn't want to come off of the splined differential shaft. It will move about 1/8 inch and then just stops like it is coming up against a snap ring or something. Did I miss a fastener, could it be a burr on a spline, or is it just being stubborn. Don't want to start hammering on expensive parts if I'm just being clueless here. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

There is no snap ring or other fastener. I used a gear puller tool, the flange appeared to be on fairly snug, but then it took very little force on the puller to remove.

Thanks! I was getting ready to grab the puller, so here goes. Much appreciated.

Man, that thing fought me down to the last millimeter. I suspect copious amounts of sealer/loctite must have been part of its history.
