Hi: Need help. My owners book calls for Champion A6G or A5YC and some other plugs I cannot find even on the net. I am under the assumption they are no longer made. What is a good replacement for normal daily driving?
My plugs are getting a carbon build up. Am I running at the correct revs for that engine? Should I go for a hotter plug?
    Thank you in advance.

Most prefer the NGK products, debates on whether to use the iridium or regular electrodes seem to be the main focus on FChat.

I change the plugs every year or so on my Mondi 3.2, so I use the regular electrodes. Tried the iridiums, not convinced this is good value... The plug application is on the NGK web site, sorry I can't recall the specific code as I write (D8IEX or some variation)... The plugs are widely available (in my case at Canadian Tire) as they cross with common motorcycle and snowmobile applications...

I too would like more perspective on heat ranges, feels risky to deviate from the factory recommendations, but did they envision being stuck in traffic, with less frequent times to get the revs up in most city traffic conditions? Probably a hotter plug makes sense for long idle periods. NGK does have plugs that fit with different heat ranges...
