Don't know what to say about this... I like it but I don't like it. You see, I begged my father to buy a black on black 1984 928S for me when I was 17 back in '87. I had seen it in 'Risky Business' (one of my favorites) and thought it was the coolest car. I had so much fun and so many experiences in mine(never dumped it in a lake like Joel did though hahaha). It was perfect in so many ways: unique & sexy looks, powerful V8 engine, Weissach transaxle, solid German build quality. Not only did I have fun doing wicked burnouts & drifts (sometimes with 2 in the little backseats), but it saved our asses on plenty of occasions where a lesser car would have failed us.

This pick-up version doesn't have any appeal for me but I respect his desire to work with a car that I loved very much. Hope that makes sense. Any other former 928 drivers out there? Please chime-in. Like you, Junior?

Yes, I had a '79 928 (also black on black) as my daily driver from 1986 to 1990. It was in the shop a lot, but I loved it anyway. There's something about sitting in that wraparound 928 cockpit that I haven't felt in any other car. I often dream about getting another one, maybe an S4. They're very reasonable now, especially considering that they were one of the most expensive cars when new.

I'm think he saw the American Chevelle...then saw the El Camino and the idea hit him.
