how often do you see 3 red dino spiders together ? !!! taken before we left for a local italian car show. VROOOM SYNCHRO DINO GTS Image Unavailable, Please Login
The one on the left has no front side marker lights of any kind, but appears to have US-type turn signals and rear SM lights.
dan- good eye! when car was repainted in 1982, i did not care for the front markers so i had them removed. the back ones did not bother me so i left them on. also removed the rear reflectors. dan z. bellevue, wa.
dan, so the marker-less car is yours? what is the serial number? do you know the number of the others? when did you buy your car? did it have the side mirrors that are on it now on it when you bought it or did you add them?
also, the early spider, the one in the front left corner with the clapping wipers appears to have euro bumpers, but looks to be a us spec car. is i t euro spec or us spec?
dear wspeer, i bought the car in 1980 . serial #05954 usa car daytona inserts. back then i added the talbot mirrors [did keep the original ] car was sold new by grand prix motors seattle . i am 3rd owner . it has always been in seattle area. i added campy wheels about 1982 , they were difficult to get even then. do not know serial #s of other cars but both owners are on ferrari chat maybe they can fill in. the euro car on right evidently had side markers added. dan z.
dan, obviously, this isn't new info to you, but when YOU repainted , did you take th car from green to red, or was it already red when you bought it? in terms of owners items, what do you have?
originally car was green , painted yellow by 2nd owner and i had it done in red. at the time the brightest red i could find was porche guards red. have the tools and pouch etc. do not have emergency triangle, [i think it was in the trunk when i got the car but thought it was some cheap deal from pep boys and probably tossed it ] did manage to pick up an extra panel top a number of years back, when i get a chance will take a picture and post ,as it is not a standard look for the gts. dan z.
I am also the proud owner of a 72 246 gts.. #04364 won gold at rodeo last yr and at concorso italiano last august monterrey, also drive at local fca driving events (this is a fast driving group!) does anyone know how many gts gt left after all these years?
The GTS in the rear is mine - # 04456, bought in April 1998 from Grand Prix Motors (now Ferrari of Seattle), I am the 4th owner. It was originally sold by Grand Prix and has been owned locally since then. Great view from Dan's home, great traffic stopping drive to the show at the XXX in Issaquah, great backroads drive after the show, all thanks to Dan and Scott. Mark
Great to see three your fabulous Dinos together, a really rare sight thats for sure. I have a 246GT in concours condition and have owned her for 21 years now. I really love my car and we recently had our NZ AGM of the Ferrari Owners Club. We took our car and had a fabulous weekend listening to the V6 music coming from the exhausts. Who needs a sound system in a Dino, they make their own music for you and listening to a radio would be a waste!! Our car is chassis #2688 and is a 1971 model. I still have the original documentation from the factory when the original owner picked it up.Keep enjoying your cars.
it's funny that this happened to just recently be posted. i was finally able to get one of my red spiders back home today. serial number 07714, which i bought in '01 Image Unavailable, Please Login
looks great, is the gold spider also yours ? the 360? is kind of a match to the gold dino. i consider the 360 to be a modern dino in terms of its styling. dan z.
sal, i would guess most cars are still around. does anybody know how many are listed in the dino register?
yes, the gold dino is mine as well. the 360 is painted grigio ingrid, a little different in color, but still nice. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Danny, Thank you for the kindness of inviting us to your NINE car garage for the pre-show Dino gathering, the coffee and Cinnabons were great! One single room in his house is dedicated to the Dino! His award winning car is their 1960(?) Alfa Giulia Spyder; his Father was the original purchaser/owner and Danny actually learned to drive in that Alfa when he was 16 years old. All 3 Dinos picture have their books, tools, regalia, etc. but Danny Z is the detailing master. Danny even showed Mark how to clean his rear vertical panel (see the bottle of Griots on the ground near the rear Dino). More results here: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=148290 The PNW group is very active and this morning we have another club event, where Dave T has gathered 132 people and over 50 Ferraris and Maseratis headed for a 3 day Oregon Charity run. I've organized a 3 day FCA Club drive to Victoria Aug 3-5th, if anyone would like to attend with us please do consider it. Everything from these Dinos to two 575m SuperAmericas are signed up to attend and August has some fantastic weather in the PNW More info: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=145985 I know you meant front right corner...and it is a Euro spec. The bumpers, wipers, gauges, exhaust headers, rear bumper caps, etc are all Euro but it has those USA marker lights. Possibly done on importation.
