Was debating this. The 430 probably isn't a keeper, so, the question is : fix and restore everything, or just do the 30k? Leaning on the restoration. Thoughts?

It depends on how soon you want to sell it? I would pass on the 30k and ask a lower price and let the new owner do what he wishes.

I'm guessing you are talking about your Mondial t.

Don't know the overall condition of your t. If the body and interior are decent I'd bring it to the best shop I could find and say do whatever it takes to make it mechanically perfect and up to snuff. Then you can do 30Ks for the next 15 years. Depending on miles I understand a suspension refresh really makes them special.

But that's from my angle. I like the patina my mondial has developed. It's a driver and shows it's miles while looking fantastic from 10 feet. Or even 5 I suppose if you don't come across one of the door dings. :D

Having another to drive while yours is down will hopefully keep you from being too teary eyed at nights :)

If you don't plan on driving it daily in the future I can see an argument for making it all new again.

I like my stuff perfect or close. Just did the seats with new leather. Paint is good. But there are somethings needed to make it perfect. I'd guess another 5-7k to make it flawless in addition to the 30 service.

I say go for it. Put it at the standard you want it to be at. Sounds like you'll be happier for it. You'll be a bit ahead of the curve. One day in the future some Mondials in average to poor condition will get full blown restorations. That will be great to see and hopefully those that really tear them down and rebuild them will share the details and knowledge which will help all of us in our more extensive repairs as these cars continue to age.
