    Anyone notice this article:

    http://biz.yahoo.com/weekend/richfun_1.html

They discuss the Lusso going from $300k value 10 years ago to $3 million today.

I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure they're wrong on both ends-- I think 10 years ago, Lussos were going for around $150k (tops) and now I think they're going for $300-350k tops.

Maybe they were thinking of another car? If so, any guesses on which one?

Here are some quotes from the article, in case the link doesn't work:

CLASSIC CARS - Ferrari 250 GT Lusso

What was it worth 10 years ago?
    About £300,000 (US $520,626).

    What's it worth now?
    Between £700,000 (US $1,214,848) and £2m (US $3,431, 319). Christie's sold one in 2000 for £950,000 (US $1,638,755).

    Where's the market heading?
Like the cars themselves, it's looking good. Stick with sports racing cars - Ferraris, Jaguars and Maseratis - because race eligibility and rarity push up the price. Whereas a 1964 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso can reach £2m (US $3,431, 319), a Ferrari 250 GTO of the same age is right at the top end, with prices reaching £10m (US $17,355,319) and above.

They're talking about the 250SWB Lusso rather than the 250GT Berlinetta Lusso I think.
Lusso was the designation for the road (steel?) version of the 250SWB rather than the Competizione version (alloy?).

Just read the article, basically they're seem more interested in big $$ numbers to wow the reader, so aren't worried about little things like accuracy getting in the way. The picture in the article shows a Berlinetta Lusso.

I love "get rich quick" instructions. There's a great article in a recent issue SCM about 904 Porsches explaining reality.
