There is a nice buyers guide for 308/328's in the new issue of Motor Trend Classic (not the regular Motor Trend).

Thanks, Ron. Just went out and bought it based on your recommendation. A nicely done piece accompanied by some good photos of the car (they use a 328GTS for pics).
There are a couple of minor mistakes in the article, but otherwise a most worthwhile piece to add to my 328 literature.

these kind of articles create "supply and demand" and increase in selling prices over time. Forza mag came out with a simular article a couple of years ago.

Yes, great "PR" piece for the 308/328. Nicely photographed, and also I think the timing is good. Summer's coming up, and price-wise this seems like an excellent time to buy one before they're all "used up".

What month or issue is the 328 article in? The Motor Trend web site was not helpful. I cannot seem to locate this magazine at local news stands. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to find it? Thanks.

I believe this is the July issue. Keep in mind this is Motor Trend Classic, a relatively new publication by Motor Trend. Mostly classic cars. Do you have a Border's, Barnes & Noble, Waldenbooks, Books A Million, etc ??

Or a newsstand that sells magazines? Ask them to get it from their distributor.

Actually, I think that it's probably the worse timing of all 'cause I've been looking to buy one for myself ;) I'm hoping that this article won't increase demand, or the perception of it.

Article is buried in the back.
Okay. The 328 buyers guide issue by Forza is better.

Thanks I will check Barnes & Nobel and Borders. I checked 2 private newsstands which are quite well stocked and neither had it. Looking at the Motor Trend Classic web site you would never know it was in there let alone which issue. You cannot even send them an e-mail from their site. You can subscribe for a year though. If not for this site I would not even know about it.

What is interesting in the article is the upper price range for the 308 GTS QV is higher than the 328 GTB.
    308 GTS QV=29,000 to 60,000
    328 GTB=35,000 to 55,000

Interesting, but probably makes sense. When I was shopping, I wanted a 1984-1988 GTS and there's no question I would've taken a top-notch QV over a 328 GTB.

328GTBs are now at the bottom of the curve and IMO are going to go back up due to production numbers and other factors....

The 308QV series has done exactly that and is further along on the "back up in value" process....Those ranges are so broad as to be almost meaninglass anyway! LOL!

As I tried to tell someone about the "355 for less than $50K"...you would not want to buy it! ;)

I think someone at Motor Trend is just pricing that based on the odd auction sale that pops up time to time in Keith Martin's magazine. Sure a 308 QV may sell for $60,000 on a very rare occasion but go try to find 20 more going for that. It won't happen. That $60,000 needs to be tossed out of the realistic range. Maybe $50,000 - maybe - but good luck finding 20 of those too.

For a good solid driver, the BEST 308's will be always in the 40s and the 328's in the 50's.

There you go, the official Tommy Cosgrove price guide for the 308/328.

Throw in some Magnum comments, add a few photos, and I think it's ready for publication.
