Hi Gang, Attached are the pictures from my 1988 Mondial. I hope I did not attach to many : - ) Thanks Michael for providing the program to reduce the image size! WAW !!!!!! Carlos, you got a gorgeous Mondial! Looks awsome. Why doesnt your license plate say fchat01 ?? That would have made you a winner instantly !
Thanks Coop! Inside is quite a bit more muffled than outside, naturally, but still a lot of fun. Very audible but bearable at the same time, also on longer hauls (longest trip we've made with the car is Amsterdam to Venice, which is about 650 miles, including a crossing of the Alps - in the snow). Tunnels are awesome, as are little brick walls, etc. The other day a friend and I went out for a spin. He in his Porsche 993, I in the Dino. He was raving about the sound of my exhaust. Funny, I never heard his.... nuff said?? (pics are in posting #63 of this thread, and a link to the sound clip in #65, both on page 4.... for those who wonder... hope I don't get disqualified for plugging my car like this ) Hans
ONNO!!!! Go behave yourself and have fun with your 550! Or go get a 4x4 F-car to have fun with in Mali.... No worries about the bottoming out of my car. You're right, the stock springs and shocks that I had at the time were crap. The new QA-1's are 1000 times better. Feel free to test these next week, when you're back from the jungle... Oh, and don't you dare voting for Francs 308! Or no more test drives Hans P.S. Looking forward to seeing your edited version of our little tunnel fun. Just be sure to have it online before the voting starts here!!! \ P.P.S: Isn't the deadline TOMORROW????? Don't we need another 4 dozen cars to get to the 77 on the list. Fchat.com web server, hold your breath! Megabyte horror is about to come down on us!!!
Hans, no chance buddy!!! First time I met Onno, I noticed it immediately; the guy has GREAT sense of taste. His decision to purchase of that immeculate 550M and he his preference in this contest are just a few though very clear examples!!!!! Hahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I complied with all of the rules except with rule #1 of the contest. So here is a picture of the current plate, today's paper, and a bit of my GT4. . Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
WAW !!!!!! Carlos, you got a gorgeous Mondial! Looks awsome. Why doesnt your license plate say fchat01 ?? That would have made you a winner instantly ! thanks Franc! FChat01, that is funny. I didn't even think about how close that is to my plate name. LCHATO1: My dad called me Chato (flat face in Spanish) when I was little and still does actually. I thought it would be kind of fun to put it on my license plate. However, the name was already taken so I had to come up with something fast while at the DMV. So, I came up with LCHATO1 - which would be el Chato 1. Cheers, Carlos
By the way Franc, your 308 looks like it just came out of the factory! It is really in nice condition - or like they say in the OC, SWEEEET! Congratulations!!! All the best, Carlos
Naaah, Carlos. In real life, Franc's car looks like a rats nest. I've seen it. He just happened to know a reaaaaally great photographer! Hmmmm..... who also happened to be the one who took a few shots of my car.... Errrr.... Naaaah..... Okay, I have to admit, Franc's 308 is absolutely stunning. He really must be on his 4th paint job by now for all that rubbing and polishing that he is doing and he can probably write books on washing and waxing. In the mean time, I just wash mine and go out for another drive... Hans (always trying to be competative)

Hans, you're funny ! I indeed could write books on pampering the car. It's my way of relaxing after a busy week. I love it; car in my garage, tune the radio to a good station, and start cleaning, waxing, etc.... all I need! But don't think it's is a garage queen. I bought it just over a year ago and have put 12000 km on it yet, driving it to Italy back and forth twice.
Chris, I realize that today is the deadline for pics but in the name of myself and my fellow procrastinators (many, it seems) I would like to throw myself on the mercy of the court to get a deadline extension until the end of August (or at least this week). I swear I'll get some pics up by Friday! I salute those who actually complied with the rules (and have put up some beautiful examples!). I think a lot of folks have been trying to get in last vacations with the kids before school starts and I know I have had to work late a lot of days lately. Thanks for hearing me out.
Chris, I thank you for your understanding! Pics should be up by the end of the week (guess I better get off my @ss and wax the car!)
