Case in point, when I bought my 328 from a well known exotic car dealer, the belt service had been done. And come to find out they f'ed it up so I have to get another belt service like three months after the purchase.

    Hope you love it.

Getting the right car is a good deal all by itself.

When I got my 328, I thought I had the right mechanic and had a lot of work done. Unfortunately that mechanic was all talk. Expensive lesson. Then I found Brian and he got the car all sorted out.. thanks Brian!

OK. so with that in mind, tell me what you think of this car. Seems overpriced to me considering it needs a major in just over a year and has higher miles. Thoughts? https://www.dupontregistry.com/autos/listing/1988/ferrari/328/1895752

It's listed $25k+ over what I'd consider offering.

Yeah it's over the market asking price for a car like that. Should be, I don't know, $80,000-$85,000, maybe $74,900-$79,900 to really move it.

Cauley is a Ferrari dealer and Ferrari dealers always ask for top dollar. Thing is, they'll probably find someone to buy it close to that price. How many black 328 GTS are for sale in the US at any given moment? Probably like maybe three to five. 328 shoppers don't have a ton of cars to choose from.

Also not sure if it matters but, a crema interior is not as nice looking as tan, IMO. You may differ. But this isn't a Black/Tan car which look really great.

Also as an aside, 30,000 miles is higher than 10,000 miles, that true. But at 30,000 miles that's around 1,000 miles a year. It's actually low miles the grand scheme of things.

I agree with your whole post. Just posted this as an example. If they come down 5-10K, it is still way too much in my opinion. Im not seriously considering this car. Just wanted to see if I was thinking along the lines of others and I am. Feeling more comfortable with pricing now. Have a better handle on it.

Thanks to everyone that has helped on this thread.

I agree with much that has been said here. Look very closely at the "extras"? All tools? Books? If a part had been changed like the bumpers does seller have the originals? If I sold my "extras" on ebay, I'd probably have about $10,000 worth of spare parts. Just the "space saver spare" is worth like $3000. Anyway, if the car is excellent, check out the extras as it could make the asking price worth it.

With what i just paid for mine I would say 80ish would be a realistic number.
