Was fortunate enough to just finish a tour of the factory late last week. Very impressive. However, I noticed descriptions, artwork, paintings, etc of mostly all models except the 308/328. I asked the guide why no 308 banners, pictures, etc and she looked at me and said "what?". I pointed to a series of banners of quite a few models that are over the paint operation and said "No 308?" and still the English-speaking guide acted like she never heard of the model. Anyone have any thoughts? Is Ferrari ignoring the 3x8 because they were less exclusive?

I want to see the 308 appreciate as much as all of our properties have in the last 10 years...

Interesting...I checked out the above PininFarina site, and indeed, no 308 listed.

Of course the REAL 308 (the FIRST ONE) is designed by Bertone, and there is no trouble finding the GT4 on the Bertone site: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=136788&highlight=bertone

At least they mentioned the 308 under the P6. I wonder why the 308 isn't listed on its own? I definitely think it's the prettiest of the bunch!

Its the best kept ferrari secret...thats why....they dont want anyone to know that a fully done 308 carb car could run as good as (30 yrs later) their 360s ;)

Didn't the same thing happen with the Dino's for a while? There were times when they couln't be given away. Now we flock to them...

Don't feel too bad. The PF site neglects to mention any of the mid-year V-8 models. At least you got mention of the P6 design car for the 308. Us 348/355 guys got totally hosed. Makes we want to peel the PF badge off my car. :) I guess owners of the "mainstream" Ferraris are not exclusive enough. Maybe they are still POed about not getting to do the GT4. :p

the 308 and most ferraris of that era were designed by Leonardo Fiorivanti, he is the true artist and not pinin. He worked for pinin for twenty odd years. Today he has his own design studio in Italy.

I'm not sure why the 308/328 design isn't emphasized at the Factory. Leonardo Fiorivanti's classic design remains "required reading" at automotive design schools.

They shouldn't forget the 308. Like it or not that model put them back squarely on the map in the USA.
Anyone remember how bad things were for a Ferrari dealer and NEW cars back in the latter half of the 70's here in the states? The choices were pretty slim. Imagine if there were never a 308 back then. They probably should drop Selleck a thank-you note while they are at it as well.

And whiles they're at it, the Factory should put a life-sized bronze 308 GTB sculpture in the courtyard! (IMHO......see? I'm learning these abbreviations, Jon)

But, alas, they chose to dump the Studio Aerodinamica in their rear lot:

They haven't made a car since the 3*8 that looks nearly as good and they probably don't want to be reminded of that fact.

Totally agree.....My first desire for a Ferrari came from Magnum P.I.....it really did....It would be interesting to actually quantify how many first Ferrari buyers who started to like the 308/328 and then went on to purchase one because of Magnum P.I. I can say that seeing the 308 week after week after week in Magnum P.I. when I was a kid led to my desire to have a Ferrari......Man did I love seeing that car every week.....I had no idea it was a 308 or 328 when I was a kid...but I knew I loved the lines of the 328 as an adult because I fell in love with the 308 watching Magnum....then when the 328 was made...ah now that is beauty.
