What you guys think about the widebody - definitely much more muscular but derail a bit from the original finer bodyline. I am being offered one (308 GTS QV with this widebody, similar to the picture) I like it but am uncertain about future resell value...

Current owner claimed this is factory kit, is there ever one?? Image Unavailable, Please Login

No, it is not a factory kit. It's been done by Koenig. He was a prominent 80's tuner / modifier. The car belongs to Nakamura-san in Japan. He owns a shop there and make some really cool parts. He also has a Koenig testarosa and he's building a killer NART inspired 246.

Buy it if you're personally in love with it; the appeal of the mods and styling come down to a matter of personal taste. But aftermarket mods/coachwork are likely to hamper resale value, until or unless you find that one next bluenavi who really loves it when it's time to sell.

Best 306-328 widebody kit, and it's from the factory! I hear it does a good job of retaining its value too!
Seriously, if you like it, go for it! But any alterations from original will hurt future sales.

Koenig does love their cowbell. It looks more like a kit car than a true 308.

Non of those tacky add ons add dimes worth of performance. The 308 is already as beautiful as a car can be.

The only tweaking it "needs" is a color change or a removable roof to suit personal tastes. For example, I like yellow black on a B. Next is red tan on an S. No black on the fender vents, please, but that is just me.

But, hell, you like what you like I guess

To me all 308’s are beautiful, weather they are bone stock or slightly mod from their original looks. It’s like a Beautiful women with just different clothing, shoes, or makeup, they are still the same beautiful person or 308.

So you are asking about the future resale value of a car you have not acquired yet ........ Why buy it in the first place? Just asking

Style is personal: we either love the car or hate it.

At any given time, the pool of buyers for exotic cars is very small so selling an exotic can take a long time. The pool of buyers for a tuner-modified exotic is minuscule, so selling one can take forever.

Nominally, price does not affect 'demand' for exotics. If a 308 with a fair market value of $70k was listed at $50k, it still might not immediately sell.

OP also didn't state if the car comes with any of the Koenig mechanical mods offered at the time........most notably the turbo system.

im sure the wide wheel p7s koenigs with their suspension offerings can easily out run a xwx car. but im in agreement that the bodywork is loud and too brash for my liking.

I could deal with a 288 GTO body package...as long as it also came with an engine package (turbo/ or supercharger) that put the HP in the same range as a real 288. Otherwise...it's just embarrassing.

Well, keep in mind that those body panels are strictly for looks. They will only increase drag - I refuse to believe Koenig ran these things in a wind tunnel

I own a wide body 308 and its a great car. Although its not a Koenig car as I first thought it might have been. The car did come from a prominent estate.

Mine also does have an 80's Turbo system fitted which is all still in original condition and unmodified from then.

Its not everyones liking and Im ok with, usually people change their mind about it when they see it in person, But dare to be different I say. Im not worried about resale value but have been offered some very good $$$$ For the it, but im happy to keep it. I never bought for investment purposes either.

Hey Tommy! Except the Koenig front spoiler like the one I got, some people call it deep spoiler and some called it snow plow which it is a proven fact that it is functional and does really work specially at high speed where it really pushes the front end down and makes it a lot stable unlike the regular Euro front spoiler where it has the tendency to lift the front end which makes it unsafe, now the rest of the Koenig body kit, I agree, they’re just for looks.
