My A/C stopped working (all of a sudden). I saw the clutch was not engaging. I narrowed it down to the wire between the console (front area and the engine compartment (at the clutch mar connector). No voltage gets to that connector.

    The fuse is good
The "D" relay (Euro) clicks as it should.
The RH rad fan goes on as it should too (when I turn on the A/C temp and/or fan switches).
Power jumped to the clutch mag/pully - clicks fine too.
The wire to the clutch shows no voltage when everthing is turned on.

Does anyone know a spot that has given them trouble that I can go to to see where the circuit is open?

The wire diagram shows some kind of multi wire connector that I have yet to locate. Could be the wire is cut somewhere.

Thank for any insight on this. It looks like it will be easy once I find the "open" connection

Typically there is a pressure switch that won't allow the clutch to kick-on if the system has leaked down. It's possible that you are just a little short of refrigerant.

If it just stopped working all of a sudden it sounds like you lost freon and the low pressure switch shut off power to the AC clutch. This switch is located next to the receiver drier. I would 1st put a AC pressure gage on the low pressure side of the AC compressor and see if you have a reading of at least 25PSI. If not you will need either a slight charge or need more service.

Im with Tim and Steve on this one. :):)

Put some gauges on it mate to see what the pressures are doing. :):)

If the pressures are ok, then you may indeed have a broken wire there somewhere. Finding broken wires takes time and can be big pains in the ass sometimes!! If it is a broken wire, hopefully its an easy one to find. :p:p

    Check those a/c pressures 1st brother. ;);)

Thanks guys. your comments are very helpful. A friend of mine has the A/c equipment to pressure check this with me too.

Steve, do you have a photo of this switch showing the location? If not don't worry. I'll pull the front cover and investigate further.

    Thanks.

I believe it is #17. There are 2 wires coming from it. It is just downstream from the receiver/drier. You need to pull the cover off the front trunk area to see the drier unit. If you disconnect the 2 wires and short them out the AC clutch should turn on. If you don't have a set of gages this will prove out the same problem that you are low on freon. Good luck

Part #16, is described as a pressure switch, #100460. Part #17, is a union but it really doesn't matter much because they're both in the same area and it should be pretty obvious when you get there.
