    Hi all,

I'm doing the compressor upgrade on the 308.

There's two switches under the front fibreglass cowel that are connected to a tee . . . one has a capillary tube but is not connected to the expansion valve . . . goes to a switch . . . are these high and low pressure switches?

The new dryer that I'm hoping to use has the low and high pressure switch in it . . . hoping to just eliminate this tee.

Thanks Sean F. for your post . . . Steve @ Carr as been awesome!!!!!

    Sean

Here's some pic's just to confirm.

First pic is the switch with capillary tube that runs to the tee. It's mounted behind the master cylinder.

Second pic shows the tee with the 2nd switch on the bottom . . . wires are broken off.

    Thanks again everyone.

You're welcome. Steve is a great resource for AC stuff. He sold me a compressor for my Accord for $350. The dealer wanted $800 for it, same part!

Got my hands on a case of R-12!

Compressor, dryer, and new pressure switch should be here this week . . . probably get it all working just in time for winter.

There's some visible dirt in the lines in the car since the compressor and condensor have been off for a couple of years. What should I rinse them out with.

Someone also mentioned "evacuating" with nitrogen, especially when using R-12 . . . how do you get the nitrogen in . . . just blow it in and cap it, then pull vacum?

    Thanks,

    Sean
