Hi everyone. I was wondering what alignment specs you are using on your car. My car has not been lowered and still has the the original wheels. It's a 1978 GTS.
    Thanks in advance,
    Joe

Thank you for that. I was curious if someone has tried something else.

I'm sure people will have tried all sorts of different settings, but the facto of the matter is they will not have had anywhere near the fascility to do all the analytic testing that Ferrari did in period.

If you have handling issues what tyres are you fitting?

I have no handling issues. I did the suspension and have to get it realigned. I am always curious to see what others have done with their setup.
    Thanks,
    Joe

    I have 14 s on a 208 GT4 running 195/70/14 s .There are no Michelin XDX around theses days .Sorry Dougal .
i am on Yokohama blue Earth s they seem ok .For 70s profile seem stiff enough sidewall wise they don’t squish out .

Anyhow it’s had a suspension refresh by a BMW M sport race prep outfit ( used to rebushing worn A arms etc ) and new rack later fitted by me .
The race prep guys did the initial shimming and geo to factory spec on the 14 s .I did the rack and the handling esp the feel was all over the place so for the sake of £50 took it to Quickfit of all places and they put it on there Hunter apparatus.
The system had the car and unbelievably everything was there or there about except the front tracking was way out which took 10 mins to correct .Also my rear camber was reversed .It should come from the factory with positive , but mines got pretty distinct neg rear camber .It was interesting watching the hunter screens as the tech fine tuned the toe in .

Result = the feel is back and balance cornering .It’s like a different car .

The man to reach out to is John pogson @ Italia auto sport he preps F race cars and suggest neg rear camber for even improved GT 4 handling .They came from the factory with positive camber .

    go to 6.28

The balloon tyres ….but as a package with the suspension it’s a delicious handing feel / balance.

I missed this when you first sent it...Here is the factory spec for a 308 with 14" rims...I have a '80 308 GTBi and I get great results with the settings found on the attachment

    Hi

    • The settings you would use for the race track will be very different to what you use on the Road.
    • Michelin do still make some XDX https://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/michelin-classic-tyres/xdx.html but not in your size
    • it would be possible to step up to a 205/70VR14 XWX which i would suggest is better than going for a modern carcass. (i would imagine your modern 195/70VR14 puts more rubber on the road than the 205/70VR14 XWX and the carcass structure wont react very well to your chassis. However if you have made those alterations that is no longer relavent)
    • Hopefully we will be getting a 195/70VR14 Pirelli Cinturato CN36 next year. That will be a tyre the right size and carcass structure. what is not to like. watch this space https://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/pirelli-collezione/cinturato-cn36.html
